Ty Simpson Issues Fiery Rallying Cry As Heisman Hype Builds for Alabama QB

Alabama QB Ty Simpson issues a rallying cry to his teammates ahead of a crucial November slate, which could bolster his Heisman Trophy resume.

Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson has led the Crimson Tide’s revival, with seven consecutive wins following their season-opening loss to the Florida State Seminoles. As a result, the Crimson Tide snagged a No. 4 ranking in the first College Football Playoff rankings released on Tuesday.

Simpson has been imperious, gaining traction as a legitimate Heisman Trophy contender alongside several highly productive quarterbacks as the 2025 college football season enters the final stretch.

Ty Simpson Challenges Bama To Finish the Season Strong

During his news conference ahead of the Crimson Tide’s Week 11 game against the LSU Tigers in Tuscaloosa, Simpson challenged his teammates to avoid undoing their stellar performances so far and to finish the season strongly.

Last season, Alabama entered the last month of the season with two losses, but still had a chance to clinch a College Football Playoff berth before an upset loss against the Oklahoma Sooners derailed their season.

“In order to be remembered by what you did in November, it starts in September and October, and we need to make sure that we don’t piss it away and just be glad we had a good season in the front end,” Ty Simpson said. “We need to finish it out and make sure that we come ready to play, and we separate ourselves these next couple of games.”

The Crimson Tide closes out the season with games against the LSU Tigers, Oklahoma Sooners, Eastern Illinois Panthers, and the Auburn Tigers in the Iron Bowl.

Simpson Dismisses LSU Struggles Ahead of Rivalry Game

After being ranked as high as No. 2 in the AP Top 25 Poll earlier in the season, LSU’s tumble has been spectacular, as the Tigers have fallen to a 5-3 record, which culminated in the firing of coach Brian Kelly two weeks ago.

During his weekly news conference ahead of their clash against the Tigers, Simpson dismissed LSU’s struggles and pointed out the team’s talented roster.

“Coaching change or not, it’s the same players,” Simpson said. “They’ve been in every game, regardless of their record. I think, by far, one of the best defensive back-ends in the league, if not the country. They’ve got great coaches. It’s gonna be a great challenge. We need to be ready to go and understand, ‘Hey, these guys are gonna come after you.’”

Last season, the Crimson Tide blew out the Tigers 42-13 in Death Valley on the back of quarterback Jalen Milroe’s sensational performance, and Simpson will be seeking to recreate the iconic showing in Week 11 as he seeks to boost his Heisman Trophy campaign.

Earlier this week, CBS Sports analyst Randy Cross included the Alabama QB on his Heisman Trophy ballot, naming Simpson as the third in line to the award for the Most Outstanding College Football Player in the country.

The Crimson Tide passer was named alongside Indiana Hoosiers’ standout Fernando Mendoza and Ohio State Buckeyes’ quarterback Julian Sayin as the players to watch when the award is announced in early December.
