Xavier Scott’s NFL Draft Potential
Xavier Scott has barely played in 2025, as a foot and ankle injury has kept him sidelined for all but three games. Those games, for the most part, haven’t been against notable competition either, nor was he 100%.
Most of Scott’s evaluation at this point goes off of his 2024 tape, which is superb. Primarily a nickel defender with some safety utility, Scott has excellent route relationship management skills, along with stellar coverage athleticism — itself a conglomeration of his foot speed, reactive twitch, fluidity, and sink.
He’s willing to be physical at the catch point and in support, and his overarching versatility presents him as an eventual “glue guy” for an NFL secondary. His medicals will be scrutinized, but he’s a good football player gift-wrapped at optimal value.
Where Is Scott Being Selected Most Often in the PFSN Mock Draft Simulator?
Scott currently holds the No. 71 overall rank among prospects, reflecting his standing among mid-round prospects. His most recent Average Draft Position (ADP) of 73.3 as of October 13 reflects that he is typically being selected on Day 2 or early Day 3.
This small gap between rank and ADP suggests he’s consistently valued among evaluators, even amid fluctuations in player evaluations at this stage of the draft cycle.
Users controlling the Miami Dolphins have been the team that selected Scott the most frequently over the past week, accounting for 1.3% of their picks across all seven rounds.
