American tennis star Jessica Pegula is enjoying a well-deserved break with her husband, Taylor Gahagen, shortly after having a dominant Asian Swing. Notably, Pegula’s recent social media post offered a rare glimpse of her husband as the couple enjoyed the Halloween spirit week with their dogs. The couple, married in October 2021 at Asheville’s Biltmore Estate, shares an exceptionally close bond.

Pegula recently wrapped up a commanding Asian Swing, highlighted by deep runs at the China Open and Wuhan Open. Entering the China Open as the fifth seed, she defeated formidable opponents like Emma Raducanu, Marta Kostyuk, and Emma Navarro before an unexpected semifinal loss to 26th seed Linda Noskova.
Pegula then turned her attention to the WTA 1000 event in Wuhan, and her strong form continued. She overcame Hailey Baptiste, Ekaterina Alexandrova, and Kateřina Siniaková, stunned top seed Aryna Sabalenka, before falling to compatriot Coco Gauff in the final. Fresh off her impressive run in China, Pegula made the most of her break alongside her husband, Gahagen.
The American recently shared glimpses of her downtime, calling it a recap of her first week back home. The photos appeared just as the Halloween Spirit week kicked off and featured their dogs, Dexter, adorably donning the bat wings, and Maddie, seen in a selfie with Pegula.
The World No. 5 also enjoyed a relaxing round of golf during her break.
“week 1 home recap those aren’t socks,” she captioned.

Pegula and Gahagen connected through their shared drive for business and community development. The couple first linked in 2015 and forged an utterly deep bond. Gahagen, originally from New York, attended Williamsville North High School, studied business administration at SUNY Fredonia, and later earned his MBA from Canisius College.
Interestingly, Gahagen also held senior positions at Jessica Pegula’s parents’ Pegula Sports and Entertainment before transitioning to his current role as managing partner at Agarwood Wealth and Dragos Capital.
For Pegula, the break comes at an ideal time, allowing her to recharge and refocus ahead of the season-ending WTA Finals. The challenge in Riyadh will be formidable, with the American set to face a star-studded field featuring Coco Gauff, Amanda Anisimova, Madison Keys, World No. 1 Aryna Sabalenka, and World No. 2 Iga Swiatek all vying for the coveted year-end title.
