The Miami Dolphins got destroyed by the Cleveland Browns. It was a terrible day for the Miami offense, and especially Tua Tagovailoa. He threw brutal interceptions and was benched, and the offense scored just six points. The week got even worse for Miami as Jaylen Waddle suffered an injury.
What Happened to Jaylen Waddle?
Waddle went up for a pass by Quinn Ewers and hit the ground hard. Ewers tried to put the ball where Waddle could go up and get it, but instead, Waddle couldn’t reel it in and was rocked by the defender and landed in pain. He was shaken up and came out of the game. It’s a blowout, so he likely will not return in order to keep himself healthy for next week.
Waddle was quiet in this one, with only one catch for 15 yards. Now, the Dolphins are 1-6 and need to find an answer offensively quickly.

For some reason, Waddle was still in the game down 31-6 with under 4:00 remaining while Tagovailoa and De’Von Achane were put on ice. Mike McDaniel seems intent on expediting his trip to the unemployment line.
Waddle had been serving as the Dolphins’ WR1 with Tyreek Hill done for the season. Behind him, the Dolphins have Malik Washington and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine.
Darren Waller got hurt in this one as well. So, someone has to catch the ball in Miami. Washington is the preferred add in the event Waddle’s injury will cost him time, but the reality is that fantasy managers want no part of this offense.
The Dolphins are making a strong case for one of the worst teams in the NFL. The Browns were one of the worst in the league, and they just dismantled them. The Miami offense has struggled mightily in 2025 despite having talented weapons and hasn’t been able to get anything going.
Tagovailoa’s benching and the safety of McDaniel’s job will be the topics of discussion in the aftermath of the game. McDaniel looks to be a dead man walking in Miami and will be out the door very shortly. Tagovailoa isn’t anywhere close to what he’s shown in the past in 2025 and could see time on the bench if his struggles continue.
The Dolphins have a lot to figure out, and it’s time to start looking ahead. The team is going to look quite different next year and will have to start planning for the future. They are plummeting to the bottom and should start looking at mock drafts for the offseason, as any hope was crushed after the Browns demolished them in Week 7.
