Fritz vs. Djokovic head-to-head
The head-to-head between Fritz and Djokovic is one of the most one-sided rivalries at present in men’s tennis. The Serb has maintained his dominance over the 27 -year-old, having an 11-0 record against him so far. Even though the former World No. 1 is on his last legs, Fritz has not been able to find answers to get past him.
The most recent encounter between the two came in the quarterfinals of the US Open last month, with Djokovic winning 6-3, 7-5, 3-6, 6-4.
Fritz vs. Djokovic prediction
13 of Fritz’s 19 career finals have come on hard courts, including the US Open in 2024 and his biggest title till date in Indian Wells three years back. However, against Djokovic, the American has found it difficult to make his first serve effective, which is a key part of his game. Fritz has made only 59% of his first serves against the Serb, winning 69% of points on it.
Meanwhile, Djokovic’s overall numbers on the hard courts are nothing short of legendary. In his celebrated career, the Serb has won 71 hard-court titles from 94 finals, winning 14 Grand Slams, among other tournaments. It has been some time since he last won a hard-court title, but he reached the final of the Miami Open this year, losing to Jakub Menšík.

Djokovic has always found a way to get past Fritz’s big serving and hold his own serve. He has won 76% of his first serve points and 55% of his second-serve points against the Amerian. On the return front, the Serb has won 41% of points, compared to Fritz’s 31%.
Even though the match will not be counted in the official head-to-head records, this is still a chance for Fritz to claim his first victory over the Serb and get past the mental hurdle. However, given his record, Djokovic seems to be the favorite to prevail once again.
Prediction– Djokovic to win in three sets
