The New York Jets are struggling mightily, entering Week 6 without a single win. They’ll face the Denver Broncos in London, hoping that a change of scenery and a new country can help end their losing streak.
With the game taking place overseas, fans can expect two national anthem performances before kickoff. So, who will be taking the stage to perform them? Let’s find out.
Who Will Perform the National Anthems at the Jets vs. Broncos London Game?
The NFL announced last week that Jay Perry and Roxanne Couch will perform the national anthems ahead of the Week 6 matchup between the Jets and Broncos at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The two artists are cast members from the London production of the hit musical Hamilton, and while Perry will sing the English national anthem, “God Save the King,” Couch will perform the United States national anthem, “The Star-Spangled Banner.”
Perry first rose to fame as a member of the pop group S Club Juniors and has since built an impressive stage career. He has appeared in popular West End shows, including Hamilton, Motown: The Musical, and Back to the Future: The Musical, all while maintaining ties to his pop roots on social media. Reflecting on the upcoming performance, Perry told NFL:
“The atmosphere when the NFL comes to town is electric. It is a privilege to be a part of that energy and represent my country on such a big stage.”
Meanwhile, Couch is a New Zealand-American actress, singer, and dancer who has also made her mark on the West End. She played Catherine Parr in the 2022–23 production of Six the Musical and continues to perform in Hamilton, making history as the first American actress in the West End production.
Roxanne is known for blending her natural Californian accent for solos with a British accent for ensemble lines. On performing the U.S. anthem, she said:
“I am so excited and proud to perform the U.S. National Anthem at this NFL London Game. It’s a powerful experience to share this moment with fans from around the world and celebrate the game with fans that have so much passion for the sport.”
In addition to the national anthem performances, fans can look forward to the halftime show performance by award-winning British rap icon Giggs, who will bring his internationally acclaimed sound to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium stage during the London game, as the Jets aim to secure their first win of the season.
