Latest Update On Ty Simpson After Scary Incident for Alabama Football’s QB1

During Alabama’s game against Missouri, the Crimson Tide’s quarterback appeared to tweak something, according to ‘All Things Alabama’ reporter Creg Stephenson, who pointed out the potential injury following the play.

“Ty Simpson looks like he tweaked something on that sack/fumble on the previous drive. Not running comfortably at all,” Stephenson wrote, following the play where the Missouri defensive end managed to strip the football on Alabama’s opening drive of the second half.

Following the Tigers’ score, the Alabama quarterback led his team down the field; however, most of these plays were either handoffs or passes, with Simpson only scrambling down the field on two occasions and losing three yards.

At the end of that drive, Simpson, who is currently ranked as the 11th overall best quarterback in College Football according to Pro Football Network’s QB Impact metric, also made a critical error that cost his team a touchdown.

After handing the ball off for what appeared to be a touchdown for Alabama’s running back, Jam Miller, the play was overturned because the quarterback’s knee was down before the ball was handed off, forcing them to settle for a field goal.

Despite that mistake and the earlier fumble, the quarterback has earned plaudits on social media for his efforts in the game against Missouri after a series of accurate passes.

“Ty Simpson is who @dpbrugler and a lot of other QB mis-evaluators thought Garrett Nussmeier was. Special throw on a 3rd & 12, and why in the last month he’s become a legit Top 10 #NFLDraft prospects. Just tremendous growth,” one account wrote about the QB’s performance.

Heading into this matchup, Simpson had completed 70.3% of his passes for 1,478 yards and 13 touchdowns.

Currently coming into the end of the fourth quarter, No. 14 Missouri trails No. 8 Alabama 27-17 on ABC following a touchdown pass from Simpson — his third of the day.
