The Dallas Cowboys and fantasy football managers alike are holding their breath as they await news on one of the NFL’s most explosive receivers. CeeDee Lamb, who was putting up elite numbers through the first two weeks of the season, suddenly found himself sidelined after a concerning incident during Week 3’s matchup against Chicago.
The timing couldn’t be worse for those who invested heavily in the Cowboys’ star wideout, especially with QB Dak Prescott playing at an MVP level and the Dallas offense firing on all cylinders.
While the Cowboys have shown optimism by keeping Lamb off injured reserve, his absence has left a massive void in both the team’s offensive scheme and fantasy lineups across the league, with his potential Week 6 return becoming one of the most closely monitored storylines in fantasy circles.
CeeDee Lamb Injury Update
Dallas superstar receiver CeeDee Lamb suffered a high ankle sprain in Week 3 against the Chicago Bears and has missed Weeks 4 and 5. The Cowboys kept Lamb off the injured reserve, signaling their belief that he could return to full strength within four weeks.
Lamb may return to the starting lineup in Week 6. His practice participation throughout the week will be very telling. Before he was injured, Lamb was once again putting up huge numbers. He has caught 16 passes for 222 yards in just two games with a target. Still, he hasn’t found the end zone yet, which will be highly anticipated after he returns.

Lamb Fantasy Outlook
Jerry Jones left the door open for Lamb to be placed on IR at the time of the ankle injury, and that’s obviously a major concern. That said, with QB Dak Prescott playing at an MVP level, it’s hard to envision the Cowboys not using Lamb like an alpha WR1 the second he is given the medical green light.

We can discuss how to rank his return to action when we get a clear picture of when that will be, but he’s a fantasy superstar who could still well determine your fate this season.
