Jordon Hudson ‘Thanked’ by Fans for Her Role As Bill Belichick’s UNC Documentary Hits Road Block

The college football world hilariously credits Jordon Hudson after Bill Belichick’s North Carolina Hulu documentary gets scrapped.

Legendary coach Bill Belichick’s highly anticipated debut season as North Carolina’s head coach has been nothing short of a nightmare. The six-time Super Bowl-winning coach, best known for his two-decade dynasty with the New England Patriots, is learning that life in college football is an entirely different challenge.

The Tar Heels’ 2025 campaign has been historically bad. Through three Power Four matchups, UNC has been outscored 120-33, suffering blowout losses to TCU, UCF, and Clemson. The 87-point deficit across those three contests marks the worst start against major competition in the program’s 137-year history.

It’s been a humbling reality check for Belichick, whose team sits at 2-3 (0-1 ACC) entering the midseason bye week. The program’s struggles have been magnified by an unexpected twist — the cancellation of a much-hyped Hulu documentary that was supposed to chronicle Belichick’s first year in Chapel Hill.

Fans React With Sarcasm Following Documentary Cancellation as Jordon Hudson Gets Targeted Again

According to Jeremiah Holloway of On3, “North Carolina’s season-long documentary with Hulu is no longer happening, sources close to the program confirmed to Inside Carolina this week.”

Following the documentary news, fans flooded social media with a wave of sarcasm and mockery, much of it directed not at UNC’s struggles, but at Bill Belichick’s high-profile relationship with 24-year-old Jordon Hudson.

Since his hiring, Hudson has remained a lightning rod for attention, and fans didn’t miss the chance to tie her name to UNC’s latest misfortune.

“I will actually thank Jordon Hudson this time,” one fan quipped, suggesting that the reported cancellation of the Hulu series might be a blessing in disguise given the Tar Heels’ disastrous start. Another echoed the same playful tone, writing, “Jordon Hudson actually saved us this time.”

Some took the joke further with more biting humor, like the fan who commented, “His bop gf declined it, I bet.” The remark alluded to the possibility that Hudson herself might have been involved in pulling the plug on the project, a claim with no factual basis, but one that spread quickly online.

Then came another jab, “Another Air Ball for JordOn.” This reference played off Hudson’s name while drawing a comparison to a basketball miss, symbolizing how both the relationship and UNC’s football season have seemingly fallen short of expectations.

“Damn, is Jordan ok?” one user asked sarcastically, feeding into the viral narrative surrounding Belichick’s off-field life.

And as the jokes kept coming, one fan’s remark seemed to strike a more serious chord beneath the humor, “Yea cuz he getting fired at the end of the year lmfaooo.” While meant as a joke, the comment reflected an emerging sentiment among fans that Belichick’s time in Chapel Hill could be limited if the Tar Heels’ on-field results don’t improve soon.

Whether the canceled Hulu project resurfaces or not, Belichick’s time at North Carolina is shaping up to be one of the most fascinating and tumultuous storylines in college football this year.

The project had initially generated major buzz after being announced on August 24. During a team meeting, Belichick had revealed the news himself, sharing that the Hulu series would spotlight UNC’s rebuilding process and the team’s pursuit of excellence.

“This is about the UNC football program. There’s obviously a lot of interest in it, and it will stream on Hulu later this fall,” Belichick said in the team’s promotional video.

“It’s gonna feature the players working hard, which you guys do,” he continued. “It’s about the players improving and getting better through their hard work, which you do. And a program starting from where it started from several months ago to wherever it’s gonna go during the course of the season, which, of course, we determine on the field.”

With the team now on a bye before facing California on October 17, Belichick’s focus will be on salvaging a disappointing season. But with fan patience wearing thin and media narratives circling, it’s clear that both his coaching reputation and his new college experiment are under heavy scrutiny.
