How Did Bianca Andreescu React to Eugenie Bouchard’s Meeting With Eckhart Tolle?

As noted, Bouchard often offers glimpses into her life online, and recently shared photos and a clip from Eckhart Tolle’s Montreal event on Instagram. The German-born author is celebrated for highlighting the transformative power of Presence, an awakened state of consciousness that rises above ego and discursive thought.

He has authored numerous spiritual masterpieces, including A New Earth, Stillness Speaks, Guardians of Being, Gateways to Now, and many more. Recently, Bouchard had the privilege of meeting the 77-year-old in Montreal and even posed for a photo with him. In an extended caption, she shared how profoundly his works, especially ‘The Power of Now,’ which she calls ‘her bible’ have influenced her life.

“I first got introduced to his book ‘The Power of Now’ back in 2018 by a trainer who saw I was going through a tough time and suggested I read it. I’ve since read it countless times, at least once a year, over and over. I call it my bible, my religion, and travel with it all the time. Even when l read other books, I read this one alongside it. I read it front to back but you can pick it up and open to any page and find a valuable lesson in any given sentence,” she wrote.

Bouchard added that six months ago, she discovered Tolle was hosting a rare event in Montreal and bought tickets despite her busy schedule. Excited to meet him beforehand, she became nervous, sweating, and talking rapidly when the moment arrived.

“He probably thought I was nuts lol and the contrast in our speaking styles must have been comical. He is so calm, slow and gentle when he talks (which I need to work on). I got to ask him a few questions about his teachings, and then we talked about how they are so relevant in what I’ve done my whole life, tennis,” she added.

The former Wimbledon finalist’s heartwarming experience was later lauded by her compatriot Andreescu in the comments. ‘Love this!’ She wrote.

Bouchard and Andreescu are among the most successful Canadian tennis players in history. The former came close to a Major triumph at Wimbledon 2014, while Andreescu won the 2019 US Open. Both also climbed to the WTA top 5, with Bouchard making it to a career high No. 5 in 2014 and Andreescu reaching No. 4 in 2019.
