The New York Jets and their fans don’t have much to smile about in 2025. They can hang their hats on two close losses against 3-1 teams, but that’s about it. Star WR Garrett Wilson has been outstanding and is on pace for career highs, but the team can’t get a victory. They’re struggling once again, this time against the Cowboys.
Their day is getting worse as Breece Hall fumbled in the red zone and was injured on the play. Take a look at the Jets RB depth after Hall’s injury and Braelon Allen’s injury in last week’s game.
Jets RB Depth Chart
Hall looked great before his fumble and injury, as he had nine carries for 78 yards. Now, their backfield is without Hall and Allen unless Hall returns in the second half.
Hall was set for an increased role following Braelon Allen’s MCL sprain. The Jets’ backfield went from a three-man committee to just two. If Hall has to miss time, Isaiah Davis is the last man standing.

Davis is better than most third-string running backs, but he’s not exactly built for three downs. The Jets recently signed Khalil Herbert, who could end up splitting early down work with Davis while the sophomore handles passing down work.
The Jets have Kene Nwangwu, who only appeared in the season opener as the return man. He got injured quickly in the opener and hasn’t returned since. It’s likely that he won’t be back any time soon, as they signed Herbert for depth purposes.
The Jets run game will take a significant hit if Hall is going to be out a while. He looked to be doing fine on the sideline right before the game entered halftime. Although, Hall had a backbreaking fumble to turn the game on its head, they need him on the field or Justin Fields will have to help carry more of the load in the New York rushing attack.
The Jets are down 23-3 at halftime due to a late collapse at the end of the half. Giving up two touchdowns in the final minute of the half took this game from being a one-possession game to a three-possession game in the blink of an eye.
New York had a chance before the Hall fumble to tie the game, but the red zone turnover seemingly ended the Jets’ chances of winning, barring a crazy comeback.
