The 2025 college football season is ticking along nicely, with a stacked Week 6 slate the latest edition this weekend. However, the deeper we get into the season, the more teams are missing from action as bye weeks decimate the number of games. Which college football teams are on a bye this week? Let’s find out.
Oregon Ducks
After knocking off the Penn State Nittany Lions the previous week, the Oregon Ducks have a well-earned rest with a college football bye in Week 6. Dan Lanning’s team is one of just five programs that rank in the top 25 for all three PFSN College Football Impact metrics, and remains one of the top teams in the country ahead of their Week 7 clash with the Indiana Hoosiers.
Ole Miss Rebels
The Ole Miss Rebels came out of their clash with the LSU Tigers with the best chance to reach the College Football Playoff, according to the PFSN College Football Playoff Meter (FPM). Lane Kiffin’s team looks like one of the hottest properties in the country behind Trinidad Chambliss, and will look to keep momentum rolling when they face Washington State next week.
Indiana Hoosiers
Curt Cignetti’s Indiana Hoosiers continue to defy the doubters as one of the top teams in the Big Ten.

They have a bye week following statement wins over the Illinois Fighting Illini and Iowa Hawkeyes, ideal preparation for the biggest game on their schedule so far when they travel to Eugene to face Oregon in Week 7.
LSU Tigers
The bye week comes at an optimal time for the LSU Tigers. Brian Kelly’s team has been putrid on offense so far this season, with many of their deficiencies heightened by the injury status of quarterback Garrett Nussmeier. A week away from action should help the healing process, while Kelly might figure out how to run the football to help take pressure off his star quarterback.
Tennessee Volunteers
Josh Heupel’s Tennessee Volunteers have been banged up at multiple spots this fall, and will hope the timing of their bye in college football Week 6 will ensure they don’t have to play too many more games without some of their injured superstars. The Vols are still 4-1, with quarterback Joey Aguilar leading the SEC in passing yards (1,459) and passing touchdowns (13).
