Alyssa Thomas Contract, Salary, and Net Worth: How Much Is the Mercury Star Earning in 2025?

As the 2025 WNBA Finals approach, let's have a look at Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas' contract, salary and net worth in 2025.

After a turbulent season, the Phoenix Mercury made it past all adversities to reach the 2025 WNBA Finals. Naturally, the team has their star players — Alyssa Thomas and Satou Sabally — to thank.

Thomas, a WNBA veteran with ample experience, is easily one of the league’s standout players. And while she has enjoyed an impressive career, a championship can only inch her closer to greatness.

Alyssa Thomas Contract, Salary, and Net Worth: How Much is the Mercury Star Earning in 2025?

A No. 4 overall pick in 2014, Thomas is in her 12th WNBA season in 2025. However, having spent her entire career with the Connecticut Sun, her move to Phoenix has been pretty significant.

But Thomas seems to have adjusted well, averaging 15.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, 9.2 assists, and 1.6 steals per game this regular season.

In February 2025, Thomas was traded to the Mercury in a four-team deal. While it was a big switch for Thomas, the 33-year-old veteran has made sure to make the most of her new role with Phoenix.

She is currently signed to a one-year, $215,000 contract with the team, which is guaranteed for the entire amount. Her annual salary is also the same amount, which is a tad bit lower than her $218,000 paycheck with the Sun in 2024.

Year Team CashTotal Cash (Cumulative)
2018 Connecticut Sun $113,000 $113,000
2019 Connecticut Sun $115,000 $228,000
2020 Connecticut Sun $117,000 $345,000
2021 Connecticut Sun $200,000 $545,000
2022 Connecticut Sun $206,000 $751,000
2023 Connecticut Sun $212,000 $963,000
2024 Connecticut Sun $218,000 $1,181,000
2025 Phoenix Mercury $215,000 $1,396,000
Total $1,396,000 $1,396,000

Her total career earnings amount to $1,396,000, making the most money during her final season with the Sun.

Of course, Thomas could go on to play for a few more years, racking up her contract with the Mercury — especially if they manage to bag a title with her on the roster. A six-time WNBA All-Star and possible Hall of Famer, Thomas has yet to win a championship.

She earned a total of $1,181,000 during her 11 seasons with the Sun. That being said, there’s no official net worth amount for Thomas.

Thomas is Looking Forward to a Rematch Against A’ja Wilson, Las Vegas Aces

Following their face-off during the 2022 WNBA Finals, Thomas and A’ja Wilson will be back for a rematch. Only this time, Thomas is with the Mercury and not the Sun.

And with Wilson taking home the title in 2022, Thomas is particularly motivated to bring back a trophy. Of course, a player like Wilson is always challenging to play against, making their matchup even more exciting.

“[A’ja is] the ultimate competitor,” Thomas said. “She’s doing a lot of things that a lot of players could never do. Her résumé speaks for itself. I think when you have players like that, it constantly makes you want to evolve and make your game better. It elevates my game in a way. Each and every year, I try to come back and bring more.”

Game 1 of the WNBA Finals is scheduled on Friday, Oct. 3 at 8:00 p.m. EST.
