Jaylen Waddle Injury Update: What’s the Latest on the Dolphins WR, and Will He Play in Week 4?

The Miami Dolphins are off to a torrid 0-3 start to the season, and their struggles don’t appear to be anywhere near over yet. Wide receiver Jaylen Waddle is still listed on the injury report, raising uncertainty as Miami prepares to secure its first win when it takes on the New York Jets on Sunday.

What Is Jaylen Waddle’s Current Injury Status for Week 4?

Waddle had an underwhelming start to the season. He opened with a quiet four-catch, 30-yard outing against the Indianapolis Colts in Week 1, but bounced back in Week 2 with 68 yards and a touchdown before suffering a shoulder injury.

However, Waddle still managed to play in Week 3 against the Buffalo Bills and posted five receptions for 39 yards and a touchdown. He was questionable for the game throughout the Week, but was cleared at the last moment to take the field.

Still, the shoulder issue hasn’t gone away. Waddle remains on the injury report heading into Week 4, logging limited practice reps on Thursday alongside tight end Darren Waller, while cornerbacks Storm Duck and Jason Marshall sat out entirely.

“Along with Storm Duck and Jason Marshall missing practice, Jaylen Waddle (shoulder) and Darren Waller (hip) were limited. Ifeatu Melifonwu (calf) is already full-go in practice,” Dolphins beat reporter David Furones reported.

Waddle participated fully in Friday’s practice, which is a good sign for the Dolphins star’s status for Week 4. However, his availability on game day may still depend on how he responds in the lead-up to the game.

Jaylen Waddle Fantasy Outlook

Waddle’s 18-yard touchdown in the second quarter of Week 2 was a reminder of his versatility and ability to make plays at all three levels of the field. When healthy, he remains one of the most dynamic receivers in the league.

That said, there are plenty of red flags in Miami right now. The Dolphins’ offense has looked out of sync, and Waddle’s own injury concerns add another layer of risk. Outside of De’Von Achane, trusting any Dolphins skill player has been a nerve-wracking decision for fantasy managers.

The good news: Waddle is trending toward playing this Week, barring any late-week practice setbacks. With Tua Tagovailoa still under center, Miami’s passing game always has an upside. That keeps both Waddle and Tyreek Hill in the flex conversation, though fantasy managers need to recognize the wide range of outcomes that come with starting either player in this current version of the offense.
