Coco Gauff Has Revealed Her Plans for the Rest of the Tennis Season

Gauff, 21, is approaching the Asian hard-court season with a long-term perspective, treating it as preparation for 2026 rather than a decisive push for this year. Despite capturing her second Grand Slam title at Roland Garros, she admits her form has dipped since then.

“I took some time off and trained in Florida,” Gauff said. “The aim now is really to build for next year. I’m treating this period almost like a pre-season, which I also did last year. It worked out well then, so hopefully it does again. At this stage of the season, it’s about improving for what’s ahead.”

Looking back at 2024, she recalled a little about the actual matches, stating:

“Honestly, I don’t remember much about how I played. It was just about going match by match. What stood out were cultural experiences, including visits to the Great Wall and the Forbidden City. This year, maybe I’ll try a temple. I’ve been oversleeping with the jet lag.”
