Cam Skattebo’s Mother Becky Shares Heartfelt Message After Giants RB Shines vs. Chiefs

New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo was on fire Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. Even his mom is showing some love.

New York Giants rookie running back Cam Skattebo was playing at a high level on Sunday night against the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite the Giants’ 22-9 loss, which dropped them to 0-3, Skattebo was essentially the heart and soul of the Giants’ offense.

His numbers were elite, especially for the former Arizona State star in his third regular-season NFL game. The Giants had troubles at quarterback with Russell Wilson and Jaxson Dart sharing snaps throughout the game, but it didn’t matter who the signal-caller was because Skattebo was getting his yards.

After the game, someone very special to Skattebo shared her thoughts.

What Did Cam Skattebo’s Mom Say About His SNF Performance?

Skattebo had some very important people watching “Sunday Night Football” with Mike Tirico and Cris Collinsworth calling the action for NBC. Among those important people was Skattebo’s mother, Becky.

Upon seeing the statistics for her son’s big night against the Chiefs, Becky Skattebo headed out to social media and left a brief-but-powerful note.

After posting an eyeballs emoji, she wrote, “never any doubt. My baby always comes to play.”

So, how dominant was Skattebo’s performance? He led the team in carries (10), rushing yards (60), rushing touchdowns (1), targets (8), receptions (6), and receiving yards (61). Want more? Skattebo is the top rushing TD scorer among NFL rookies this season with 2.

The Giants knew that Skattebo would be a welcome addition to their offense, but Giants head coach Brian Daboll might not have expected just how dominant Skattebo has been when the Giants are on offense.

He’s making heads turn left and right with his ability to make catches in the open field, then run upfield for additional yardage. Skattebo had the same ability in his college days, playing for the Sun Devils. Now, he’s showing NFL teams what he can do, whether Wilson or Dart is at quarterback.

It’s always nice to get some encouraging words from Mom, especially when her son pops off in a big way on national television.

Giants fans might be sad over the team’s tough start and wonder who will lead the offense full-time. But their running back situation, which has looked subpar since Saquon Barkley bolted for greener pastures with the Philadelphia Eagles, might have finally found a solution.

Look for Skattebo to continue playing at an incredible level while earning early votes for NFL Rookie of the Year accolades. Next up for the former Sun Devil and the Giants is a home game against the 3-0 Los Angeles Chargers — another chance to shine in front of the new home crowd.
