The Dallas Cowboys have not gotten off to the start they hoped for this season. After an embarrassing 31-14 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday, they fell to 1-2 on the season and have many issues that need correcting.
One person who is taking a lot of heat is Owner/General Manager Jerry Jones. The Cowboys’ defense misses Parsons, and Jones will be blamed for a while for giving him away.
Yet, Jones seems to think his Cowboys still have what it takes to make the playoffs, and that improving the team with a mid-season trade is not out of the question. Jones said in a recent interview that he would consider trading the picks he received from Green Bay for an impact player, which sparked a strong reaction from Cowboys fans.
Jerry Jones Comments Enrage Fans
According to Pro Football Talk via John McClain, Jones said, “You’ve got to have something that comes your way that’s really special, and if you’ve got the currency to do it, which in this case would be draft picks, we’ll do it.”
This comment comes only three weeks after Jones traded his most impactful defensive player, EDGE Micah Parsons, to Green Bay.
Some of the following remarks from the fanbase are all you need to see about how these people feel about Jones.
Oh, a special player like Micah Parsons?

“Oh, a special player like Micah Parsons?” one user remarked.

Parsons is the exact type of player the Cowboys’ defense is missing, which makes it funny that Jones says he would be willing to go out and get an impact player.
The irony is totally lost on him.

Other fans couldn’t help but call out the irony in the owner’s comments. You cannot trade away a player like Parsons and expect to be better as a defense. The Cowboys are now paying for the mistakes of their GM throughout the first three weeks of the season, especially after the Bears managed to score 31 points on the unit.
Worst GM in NFL history.

Others were much more blunt, straight-up calling Jones the “worst GM in NFL history.”
Jones, according to many fans, has done a poor job as the Cowboys’ General Manager in recent years, but has no interest in ever rescinding those duties. He seemingly doesn’t do a good job with contracts, and his trades have been questionable at best. The league has seemingly passed him by, yet he refuses to change the way he operates.
The Cowboys are in trouble this season, especially with all the injuries starting to pile up. The more this team loses, the louder the noise will be around Jones’ inability to run a winning team, especially after trading away a defensive cornerstone that he is now open to “buy” with the draft picks he got.
