If New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll is not officially on the hot seat for his job, he’s definitely on the hot seat when it comes to being asked who he will go with as the starting quarterback.
After Russell Wilson failed to get the Giants into the end zone against the Kansas City Chiefs, Giants fans began to howl for Daboll to be fired or, at the very least, start rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart.
However, despite withering criticism and heated calls for a change under center, Daboll has stuck to his standard answers with the press.
Is This the Week That Brian Daboll Finally Starts Jaxson Dart?
After the game, Daboll addressed the press and was asked point-blank if he would stick with Wilson as his starter.
Connor Hughes posted, “‘You guys have asked me about guys after games. I’m not going to answer that.’ – Brian Daboll on if the #Giants will start Russell Wilson next week.”

With Daboll remaining adamant about not addressing the quarterback position, the media, both social and news, will do it for him, not to mention the myriad Giants fans who are screaming for Daboll to make a change after Wilson led an offense that generated only 9 points against the Chiefs in a home game.
The veteran quarterback threw for only 160 yards and posted two interceptions on the night.
During the game, chants of “We Want Dart” could be heard throughout the stadium. For all of Daboll’s attempts at stoicism during his press conference, this inundation of calls for the heralded rookie could not have escaped him.
What Could the Giants Do Moving Forward?
Daboll will have some serious decisions to make in the coming weeks. The Giants are already 0-3 and have little hope of making the playoffs. Their talented defense did a credible job against Patrick Mahomes, but considering the offense’s inability to score, it had little to show for it.
Where Wilson was able to gash the Cowboys last week with numerous deep passes, he was pressured, harried, and forced to throw the ball away on multiple plays.
While Dart may or may not be ready for primetime, the fans do what fans do: Demand immediate improvement. All Daboll has to do is figure out how to block out the noise and get his offense scoring again, whether it’s Wilson or Dart under center.
