Taylor Fritz and other American male players sent a message of support to their female counterparts ahead of the Billie Jean King Cup Final.

Team USA women’s tennis players received strong support from their male counterparts ahead of their Billie Jean King Cup final. The American squad, led by Jessica Pegula and Emma Navarro, has reached their first final at the tournament since 2018 after beating Great Britain in the semifinals.

What Message Did Taylor Fritz Have for Team USA ahead of the BJK Cup Final?

The United States Tennis Association posted a reel featuring some of the American players at the Laver Cup showing support for the women’s team ahead of the Billie Jean King Cup final. Fritz started the message, saying:

“Hey girls, best of luck in the BJK Cup finals. We’re rooting for you and bring it home.”

Alex Michelsen, standing behind Fritz, added: “Let’s go, girls. Can’t wait to watch, let’s go.”

Reilly Opelka then joined in and said:

“Let’s go, girls. We’re rooting for you. We’re in S.F. We’re getting ready to get hyped and make some noise for you from San Francisco.”

Team USA has shown remarkable resilience despite playing without World No. 3 Coco Gauff.The team is led by Lindsay Davenport as captain and features Pegula, Navarro, Madison Keys, Hailey Baptiste, and Taylor Townsend.

The Americans dominated their qualifying group in April, going undefeated with a perfect 6-0 match record against Slovakia and Denmark. They defeated Kazakhstan 2-1 in the quarter-finals as Navarro saved two match points against Yulia Putintseva, winning 7-5, 2-6, 7-6(6). Pegula and Townsend clinched the deciding doubles match.

Team USA earned their final spot after beating Great Britain 2-0 in the semifinals. Pegula defeated Katie Boulter 3-6, 6-4, 6-2, while Navarro beat Sonay Kartal 3-6, 6-4, 6-3.

The Americans face defending champion Italy in the final on September 21, 2025. This is Team USA’s 31st final appearance at the BJK Cup (previously known as the Fed Cup).

How Has Fritz Fared at the Laver Cup So Far?

Fritz did not have the best of starts at the Laver Cup as he lost his doubles fixture. However, he made up for it by winning his match against Carlos Alcaraz by a score of 6-3, 6-2. This was Fritz’s first win over the Spaniard in four meetings and his first victory against a World No. 1. The American said after the match:

“I knew what I had to do. The question was if I was going to be able to do it.”

Fritz showed excellent court control during the match. Last time these two faced off against each other at the Laver Cup, Alcaraz dominated the match, winning 6-2, 7-5 in 2024.

Team World had a perfect Saturday with Fritz leading the way. His victory helped the team take a 7-3 lead over Team Europe.
