Packers Announce TE Tucker Kraft Suffered Injury 1 Week After Breakout Performance

Green Bay's impressive 2025 start hit a roadblock this week when it was announced that tight end Tucker Kraft suffered a recent knee injury.

Green Bay Packers’ Tucker Kraft is the latest casualty on the NFL’s ever-growing injury report as the tight end came down with a knee injury during Thursday’s practice.

As Kraft got evaluated further, his participation in Sunday’s contest against Cleveland was in question.

How Long Is Kraft out Following Thursday’s Injury?

NFL insider Ian Rapoport reports that the 6’5″ pass catcher’s sustained injury is unknown in severity. However, the NFL Network reporter sees the timetable for a return as a good one for Packers fans.

“Packers tight end Tucker Kraft, who had his breakout game against the Commanders with 124 yards and a TD, suffered a knee injury in today’s practice, per The Insiders,” said Rapoport. “Kraft will have it fully evaluated, but the belief is it’s not a long-term issue.”

Rapoport provided another update on Kraft’s injury, and it looks like the tight end has avoided a significant issue. “Tucker Kraft suffered just a little knee tweak,” Rapoport wrote. “Source says, a little scare. He checked out OK.

Kraft did not practice on Friday and was officially listed as questionable for Week 3. However, on Saturday, NFL insider Tom Pelissero confirmed that the Packers tight end is expected to play on Sunday.

Through the first two weeks, Green Bay looks like a serious Super Bowl contender as both sides of the ball have been clicking. Kraft and quarterback Jordan Love continue to develop their chemistry, something Packers fans hope won’t be out of commission for too long.

Kraft Emerging As Top NFL Tight End Through Two Weeks

The Packers’ strong start comes as the club took down two NFC playoff teams from a season ago in the Detroit Lions and Washington Commanders. Defensively, they have stifled two offenses that ranked in the top ten in points scored a season ago — Detroit led the league with 564, while Washington fell closely behind with 485.

However, Green Bay’s offense has arguably been the most impressive part of their team early in 2025. With 54 points scored, Offensive Coordinator Adam Stenavich has the club firing on all cylinders. Love looks to be a possible MVP candidate in the early stages as the man at the helm has thrown four touchdowns and no interceptions thus far.

Two of those touchdown passes have been grabbed by Kraft, who is looking to break out in his third NFL season. Last season, the South Dakota State alumni impressed with 707 receiving yards and seven touchdowns on 50 catches.

Yet to miss an NFL game in his career, Kraft looks to bounce back quickly from his recently sustained bump.

The Packers face a struggling Cleveland team that has opened 2025 with a 0-2 record and 58 points allowed.
