The aim for the Los Angeles Chargers and the Las Vegas Raiders this season is to eclipse the Kansas City Chiefs as the alpha of the AFC West. The first week of the season was a good start in that regard, as both teams came away with impressive victories. The Raiders took down the Patriots, while the Chargers soundly defeated the Chiefs in Brazil.
However, Week 2 brings a divisional clash between the two opponents as the Raiders host their first home game under the new regime. With the top spot in the division up for grabs, both teams will try to put their best foot forward. However, the two sides have to manage a few injuries as they enter Allegiant Stadium.

Los Angeles got off to an excellent start in Year 2 under head coach Jim Harbaugh. Despite losing their starting left tackle, Rashawn Slater, for the entire year, the team made a complete effort to defeat Kansas City.
However, the challenge for them is going to be to continue that momentum. Facing another 1-0 team early in the year, it gives the Chargers a chance to snatch the one-seed in the AFC West after the Denver Broncos fell to 1-1 following a loss to the Indianapolis Colts.
Las Vegas Raiders
Trying to go up 2-0 themselves, the Raiders’ offense will feature a flurry of relatively new faces — either by way of new deals, trades, or rookies selected in the NFL Draft.
- QB Geno Smith
- RB Ashton Jeanty
- WR Jakobi Meyers
- WR Tre Tucker
- WR Dont’e Thornton Jr.
- TE Brock Bowers (Questionable)
- LT Kolton Miller

The defense, headlined by feared EDGE Maxx Crosby, will look to make the Chargers’ night difficult.

- NB Kyu Blu Kelly
Finally, their special teams unit comprises:

Coming into the year with a myriad of changes, including but not limited to the ownership group, the head coach, and the quarterback, Vegas was hoping for a rapid transition. The performance in Week 1 could not have disappointed the fan base.

Soundly defeating the Patriots, the Raiders showed that the new formula with Geno Smith as the quarterback and Pete Carroll in the head coaching chair can lead to success. But the Chargers present a unique challenge for the group, and they’ll need to put their best foot forward to have any shot.
