Georgia Tech is doing everything they can to get an advantage over No. 12 Clemson. The Yellow Jackets know that Tigers QB Cade Klubnik hasn’t played up to par yet this season, though he’s due at any given moment.
Klubnik has proven himself time and time again as he heads to Georgia Tech for a key ACC matchup. With Clemson falling short at home against now-No. 3 LSU in Week 1, their Week 3 road test took things to the next level.
Viral Out of Context Cade Klubnik Quote Taken to the Extreme by Georgia Tech
A couple of hours before gameday, the Yellow Jackets posted a brief clip of a quote from Klubnik. Clemson reporter Jon Blau took the initiative to post the entire video, featuring Klubnik speaking about Georgia Tech.
“I’ve never been down there. I hear it’s an awesome place. It’s kind of downtown — you get a view of the skyline whenever you’re in there. Kind of reminds of a stadium that I used to play at in high school. Obviously not comparing the two, but House Park down in Austin.”

While Klubnik was simply comparing the skyline, Georgia Tech knew it could string this out. The Yellow Jackets went viral for their image on the big board prior to their Clemson matchup. Their image featured a zoomed-in picture of Klubnik with the quote, “Stadium that I used to play in high school.”
Throwing up that image just 36 minutes before gametime was more than enough to fire up Klubnik. Social media was sent into a frenzy, with the Tigers’ senior quarterback dealing with another example of one quote being taken out of context. In the full video, Klubnik very quickly clarified his statement.
Still, the bulletin board material seems to be working for the Yellow Jackets. Currently, GT leads the Tigers 10-0 early in the second quarter.
