How To Watch Southern vs Fresno State: Streaming Info, TV Channel, Date, Time, and More

PFSN breaks down all of the ways you can watch or listen to a historic Week 3 matchup, one featuring Southern vs. Fresno State

Both Fresno State and Southern come into Week 3 of the college football season with three games under their belt. Each team participated in Week 0 back on August 23. While they each lost their respective games that day, Fresno State has responded quite well with back to back quality wins. Coming off of a 36-27 win over Oregon State, the Bulldogs are set to host the Jaguars for the first time ever.

Southern sits at 1-2 after falling to Alabama State 30-7 last week. Somehow, their lone win so far this season has come on the road. With an 0-2 home record compared to 1-0 on the road, the Jaguars will look to get any advantage they possibly can as they’re set to face off with a Mountain West school.

History Will Be Made at Valley Children’s Stadium

While Southern is an FCS opponent, they are still history makers. Never before has an HBCU program played at Valley Children’s Stadium. Southern will be the first to do so as 247 sports reports they will be bringing their world famous Human Jukebox band for a halftime performance. Even if the Jaguars leave California sitting at 1-3, they’ll be able to hold their heads high as this will forever go down as a historic game.

Not only are they the first HBCU visiting Fresno State, but this is the first-ever meeting between the Bulldogs and Jaguars. Even though there are no HBCU’s in California, President Taylor Ashby had a vision.

“Fresno State began this process back in 2021 to work with Southern University to get them to come out here, not just the football team, but the band. And honestly, just with the California State University system and the UC system, they really work very diligently to collaborate with a lot of HBCUs,” she said.

Fresno State is led by senior QB E.J. Warner. The 6′ 203-pound quarterback is on his third team in the last three years. His 2025 season has started with him going 51/74 for 476 yards. One of the key pieces to the puzzle is his TD/INT ratio. Warner has yet to throw a touchdown this season, though he’s thrown five interceptions.

A pair of dominant running backs are in the backfield for the Bulldogs. Fresno State is in good hands with junior Rayshon Luke, who leads the team with four rushing touchdowns. Sophomore Bryson Donelson paces the team with 235 rushing yards.

The Bulldogs will have to deal with Southern’s dual-threat junior QB, Cam’Ron McCoy. McCoy is also playing for his third team in three seasons. He has 312 passing yards this season to go along with 183 on the ground. Combined, he has four touchdowns. RB Trey Holly has set the pace with a team high 217 rushing yards, including an 80-yard house call in Week 0.
