The matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Washington Commanders on Thursday Night Football promises to be one of the best showdowns in the conference this season. After all, both teams made the playoffs in 2024 and return strong in 2025 with their sights set on the Super Bowl.
The atmosphere is set for a major celebration, as the Packers will debut their “Winter Warning” look by dressing in all white for the game. Beyond that, the night will also feature a special ceremony honoring Sterling Sharpe’s induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, making it a truly memorable evening for fans
The Packers vs Commanders game Will Feature A Halftime Ceremony For HOF Sterling Sharpe
The Packers opened the season in style, boosted by the trade for Micah Parsons and a dominant win over division rival Detroit Lions, a team that had beaten them in both meetings in 2024. The victory keeps Green Bay’s momentum high and reinforces expectations that this team is in the Super Bowl hunt.
Facing the Commanders will be another major test, as the Packers begin the year with back-to-back conference matchups, one of them divisional, against teams that could very well be playoff opponents or direct competition for seeding, as was the case with Washington last season.
Beyond the game itself, the Packers are preparing for a magical night at Lambeau Field. Not only will the team wear all white, but fans have also been instructed to dress in white for a full “Winter Warning” experience, with even the Packers’ helmets painted white for the occasion.

Halftime will feature a ceremony honoring former wide receiver Sterling Sharpe, recently inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Sharpe spent his entire seven-year career with Green Bay, was a three-time First-Team All-Pro, and posted five seasons with over 1,100 receiving yards, including a career-best 18 touchdowns in 1994.
Despite never missing a game, a severe neck injury that required surgery forced him into early retirement, but not before leaving a legacy of elite production during the Packers’ resurgence era.
“Halftime will include a ceremony celebrating Pro Football Hall of Famer Sterling Sharpe. Sharpe’s name will be unveiled on the Lambeau Field façade in honor of his recent induction in Canton, and he will be presented with his Hall of Fame Ring of Excellence,” the team’s website stated.
Before the game, the Packers organization will also hold a special on-field tribute during pregame activities to honor the courage and sacrifice of those who responded to the 9/11 attacks and to remember all who lost their lives that day.
Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, with exclusive coverage on Amazon Prime, which holds the rights to Thursday Night Football.
