College Football Offense Rankings Include Outstanding Oregon and Temple Displays Ahead of Week 3

The latest college football offense rankings feature some outstanding performances from Oregon and Temple, setting the tone for the Week 3 slate.

Week 2 of the 2025 college football season contained some of the most devastating offensive performances we’ve seen. Some, like the Oregon Ducks, might be expected. Others, like the one seen from the Temple Owls, were a little more surprising. Who were the best of the best? 25) Navy Midshipmen

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 80.8 (B-)

As expected from Navy’s classic ground-and-pound attack, the rushing offense took center stage and dominated Week 2 from start to finish. They were just five yards short of 300 rushing yards, also finishing with four scores and 5.8 yards per carry. Quarterback Blake Horvath capitalized on limited passing opportunities, completing six of eight passes for 168 yards and a touchdown.

24) Rutgers Scarlet Knights

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 81.0 (B-)

Rutgers quarterback Athan Kaliakmanis is making a real case to be considered in the upper echelon of Big Ten passers, as he threw for 259 yards and four touchdowns. He and two running backs all recorded ten or more carries, totaling 162 rushing yards and another two scores.

23) UNLV Rebels

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 81.1 (B-)

The Rebels’ offense is humming, as they scored 30-plus points for the third consecutive week. After an offseason quarterback competition, they’ve found their guy in Anthony Colandrea, who passed for 203 yards and three scores against UCLA in Week 2.

There’s evident talent on this offense, with three different players catching his touchdown passes.

22) Wisconsin Badgers

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 81.1 (B-)

After a slow start, the Badgers pulled away convincingly with 14 points in each of the final three quarters. Backup quarterback Danny O’Neil, inserted in place of the injured Billy Edwards Jr., was on point in completing 23 of 27 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns. The running game amassed 173 yards and three scores as well.

21) North Carolina State Wolfpack

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 81.3 (B-)

A shootout occurred between NC State and Virginia on Saturday, with the Wolfpack coming out on top. That was in large part due to running back Hollywood Smothers, who toted the ball 17 times for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback CJ Bailey had 244 total yards and a touchdown, playing mistake-free football in the win.

20) Virginia Cavaliers

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 81.4 (B-)

Though they lost to the Wolfpack, the Cavaliers had an extremely balanced day in passing and rushing for 257 yards apiece. They were excellent on third-down conversions, going 13 of 19 on those crucial downs. Running back J’Mari Taylor stood out, finishing with 150 yards and three touchdowns despite the loss.

19) Auburn Tigers

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 81.8 (B-)

Week 2 gave way to an easy win for Auburn over Ball State, in which quarterback Jackson Arnold completed 24 of 28 passes for 251 yards and three scores. The ground game — led by running back Jeremiah Cobb’s 121 yards — had 224 yards and totaled three touchdowns.

18) Illinois Fighting Illini

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 82.0 (B-)

The Fighting Illini finally woke up in the second half against Duke, scoring 31 points in the final two quarters. Quarterback Luke Altmeyer was nails for a second straight week, converting on 22 of 31 passes for 296 yards and three touchdowns. The Illinois receiving core is proving to be one of the more dynamic groups in the country.

17) Missouri Tigers

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 82.3 (B-)

The Tigers found themselves down 21-6 at the end of the first quarter before their offense kicked into gear. Transfer quarterback Beau Pribula was awesome, completing 30 of 39 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns. It helped that two of his running backs, Ahmad Hardy and Jamal Roberts, ran for 100 yards and a touchdown.

16) Indiana Hoosiers

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 82.5 (B-)

It was a fun day for the Hoosiers, as they put 56 points on the board against an inferior opponent in Kennesaw State. They were firing on all facets offensively, with 280 passing yards and 316 rushing yards. Both Mendoza quarterbacks, starter Fernando and backup Alberto, tossed touchdown passes in the victory.

15) Tennessee Volunteers

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 82.5 (B-)

The Joey Aguilar experience is going beautifully for the Volunteers, as they scored 72 points in Week 2 thanks to 458 passing yards and four touchdowns, with Aguilar’s backups getting in on the action as well. Tennessee also ran for 276 yards and five scores, putting a beating on ETSU.

14) East Carolina Pirates

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 82.6 (B-)

The Pirates jumped all over Campbell, holding a 35-3 lead at halftime. The entire offense was on fire, as they finished with 563 total yards and converted on 13 of 17 third downs. Quarterback Katin Houser had an impressive day with 314 passing yards and two touchdowns.

13) Pitt Panthers

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 83.6 (B)

Though the rushing game wasn’t particularly explosive with 124 yards, quarterback Eli Holstein was nails in completing 21 of 28 passes for 304 yards and four touchdowns. Running back Desmond Reid was once again a major weapon for Holstein, catching five passes for 69 yards out of the backfield.

12) Nebraska Cornhuskers

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 84.0 (B)

Nebraska cruised to an easy 68-0 win over Akron on Saturday, highlighted by quarterback Dylan Raiola throwing for 364 yards and four touchdowns.

Running back Emmett Johnson took 14 carries for 140 yards and two touchdowns as the headliner behind a ground attack that gained 236 yards and five touchdowns.

11) Miami Hurricanes

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 84.3 (B)

For a second straight week, quarterback Carson Beck impressed. He had just two incompletions on 24 attempts in passing for 267 yards and two touchdowns.

The run game averaged 6.6 yards per carry and scored four touchdowns, led by Mark Fletcher Jr., who had 86 yards and two touchdowns.

10) Temple Owls

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 85.2 (B)

The running game carried Temple to 55 points against Howard, as the Owls finished with 329 yards and three touchdowns. Quarterback Evan Simon was no slouch, completing eight of 10 passes for 174 yards and three touchdowns as well. Temple was extremely balanced and displayed tremendous offensive line play.

9) USC Trojans

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 85.6 (B)

The Trojans cruised to an easy win for the second straight week with quarterback Jayden Maiava and his talented crew of wide receivers standing out. Maiava finished with 412 yards and four touchdowns, with both Makai Lemon and Ja’Kobi Lane catching touchdowns, and running back Waymond Jordan carrying the ball 16 times for 167 yards and a score.

8) Utah Utes

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 85.9 (B)

Quarterback Devon Dampier was excellent once again as the Utes hung 63 points on Cal Poly thanks to Dampier’s 192 passing yards and three touchdowns with just six incompletions. Three running backs amassed 50 rushing yards as part of Utah’s 273-yard day on the ground complete with five touchdowns.

7) Vanderbilt Commodores

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 86.2 (B)

The Commodores played a balanced game against Virginia Tech, amassing 228 passing yards and 262 rushing yards in scoring 44 points. Diego Pavia contributed to the ground game as he often does, totaling 61 rushing yards along with 193 passing yards and two touchdowns.

6) Ohio State Buckeyes

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 88.0 (B+)

It’s hard to imagine a better offensive performance for the Buckeyes, who scored 70 points on Saturday. New starting quarterback Julian Sayin went 18 for 19 in passing for 306 yards and four touchdowns — two of which to superstar wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, who had 119 receiving yards. Running back Bo Jackson led the ground game with 108 yards and a touchdown.

5) Oregon Ducks

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 88.8 (B+)

The Ducks poured it on against Oklahoma State, putting up 69 points and scoring two touchdowns on the first three offensive plays. The offensive balance is incredible for a second straight game, as Oregon passed for 319 yards and ran for 312 yards. A slew of players recorded yards and caught passes, showcasing the depth and talent on the roster.

4) Arkansas Razorbacks

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 89.4 (B+)

Arkansas rolled in-state opponent Arkansas State, putting 56 points on the board with quarterback Taylen Green having a day. He threw for 239 yards and four touchdowns while leading the team in rushing with 151 yards and a touchdown on just nine carries. It’ll be intriguing to see if Green can continue to perform like this once SEC play begins.

3) Florida State Seminoles

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 91.3 (A-)

The Seminoles’ offense was unstoppable against East Texas A&M, scoring 77 points. Quarterback Tommy Castellanos didn’t need to do a lot, throwing just 11 passes with three going for touchdowns. Two of his reserves tossed touchdowns in addition to the running game, finishing with 361 yards and five scores.

2) Alabama Crimson Tide

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 91.5 (A-)

The Crimson Tide bounced back from a loss to Florida State with a dominant victory over UL Monroe in which they put 73 points on the scoreboard.

Starting quarterback Ty Simpson threw 17 passes and completed each of them, totaling 226 yards and three touchdowns. Both his reserves tossed two touchdowns, displaying the talent in the quarterback room.

1) Washington Huskies

Week 2 PFSN OFFi Grade: 93.5 (A)

Jonah Coleman. That’s it. Against UC Davis on Saturday night, running back Coleman went off, scoring five touchdowns and powering a 70-point effort by the Huskies. In all, Washington scored eight touchdowns on the ground and amassed 324 yards on the ground in a dominant victory.
