Can NFL Fans Find RedZone on ESPN?

While NFL RedZone will eventually be available on the ESPN app, that’s not going to be the case this season.

The move for NFL RedZone, NFL Network, and other properties to ESPN has not been fully approved yet. Among those other properties being shifted over there are the NFL Network, the NFL’s fantasy football platform, and seven more regular-season contests. Those would be in addition to ESPN’s current “Monday Night Football” telecasts.

With this ESPN-NFL partnership being worked through right now, all of these properties will eventually be part of ESPN, the broadcaster’s direct-to-consumer service. At some point, people wanting to see NFL programming will have to pay $29.99 per month.

Sports fans, not just NFL fans, can watch all ESPN content on the app without needing cable or satellite services.

For this season, though, NFL fans can find NFL RedZone where they’ve been watching it. According to NFL Insider Andrew Marchand, the regulatory approval period for such a megadeal between the NFL and ESPN will take 9-12 months to work through the details.

Will NFL RedZone Still Be Free of Commercials?

ESPN and the NFL already have a solid working agreement between both parties. In fact, ESPN pays the NFL around $2.7 billion annually for game broadcasting rights.

NFL RedZone viewers already have a fit before regular-season games start airing on Sundays. An announcement was made that commercials will be shown during the channel’s active hours. Before, NFL RedZone had been a commercial-free outlet where NFL fans could see game action without the ads.

According to media reporter Austin Karp of SBJ on Thursday, September 4, 2025, there will be limited ads shown throughout seven-plus hours of the show. The ads will be shown in a double-box format. Also, viewers will hear audio of those advertisements. Additionally, another box will show NFL RedZone, which models a similar format for ads that was tested in a limited capacity last season.

A number of NFL fans have already canceled their NFL RedZone subscriptions due to this move. Hopefully, NFL fans can find a way to enjoy the RedZone with Hanson still acting as the program’s ringleader of activity.
