The top-seeded Italian has encountered little resistance on his path to the semifinals. His fourth-round clash proved no exception, as he brushed past 23rd seed Alexander Bublik 6-1, 6-1, 6-1 to secure his place in the quarterfinals.
As Sinner left Arthur Ashe Stadium after his dominant performance, he paused to take a photo with a fan and handed over a towel as a souvenir. However, an unsettling scene unfolded when another spectator tried to open his bag. A security staff member swiftly intervened, and the world No. 1 chose to walk away from the crowd.

Sinner’s focus remained sharp even in the quarterfinals, where he eased past compatriot Lorenzo Musetti 6-1, 6-4, 6-2 to reach the last four for the second consecutive year. During his post-match press conference, he finally addressed the unsettling incident from the fourth round.
The Italian shared that he immediately checked his bag after the incident, noting that it contained his phone, wallet, and rackets. Even so, Sinner voiced full confidence in the security staff, praising their efforts to ensure players felt safe.
“No I haven’t experienced. I checked straight away if he took something. Because I don’t have only racquets there. I have my phone and my wallet. I don’t know. But I feel like security is doing a great job, especially on court, there are lots of security and especially in the big tournaments they make amazing job to make us safe. New things happen like this, they make great job, it’s all fine,” he said.

After beating Musetti, Sinner became the second-youngest man in the Open Era to reach the semifinals at all four Grand Slams in a single season, behind Rafael Nadal, who achieved this feat in 2008 when he was just 22.

What adds to the challenge for Sinner in the semifinals is his 1-2 head-to-head deficit against the Canadian. Still, the Italians hold the advantage of having won their most recent meeting at the Cincinnati Open quarterfinals.
Sinner can reach his second consecutive US Open final, while Auger-Aliassime is aiming for his first Grand Slam title match. The winner of their semifinal clash will face either Carlos Alcaraz or Novak Djokovic in the final.
