Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb watched his now-former teammate Micah Parsons get traded to the Green Bay Packers. Lamb, who will be a main target for Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott this season, is still getting over the news.
Lamb also knows that the Cowboys will host the Packers in a Week 4 matchup at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, on September 28, 2025. What’s on his mind when it comes to Parsons right now?
What Is CeeDee Lamb Saying About Micah Parsons?
Lamb met with reporters on Monday, September 1, just three days before the Cowboys’ 2025 NFL season opener against the Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles. Reading his responses to questions about Parsons, it’s clear that Lamb is still trying to make sense of it all.
Jon Machota, who covers the Cowboys for The Athletic, posted on X some of Lamb’s comments. “Obviously wishing him the best,” Lamb said. “I hope he has the best season ever. He’s Micah Parsons, he’s unblockable. He’s unstoppable.”

What about that Week 4 matchup at home? Lamb already is kind of looking forward to it. But Parsons is definitely on his mind. What will it feel like to see Parsons on the opposite side of the field?
“The worst,” Lamb said. “It’s gonna be weird. It’s gonna be conflicting. I hope he is not in the backfield in two seconds.”
Parsons was involved in a contract dispute with Cowboys owner-general manager Jerry Jones. Reportedly, Jones felt like he had a handshake agreement with the Packers’ defensive end on a new deal.
Will Parsons Play for the Green Bay Packers in Week 1?
Parsons didn’t think so. He was also dealing with an L4/L5 facet joint sprain issue in his back, but Parsons looked OK when he took part in his first workout on Monday with the Packers. It seems like Parsons will play in the Packers’ season opener against the Detroit Lions.
Back to the Dallas-Parsons drama. With an impasse not getting cleared up, Jones decided on Thursday, August 28, to trade Parsons for defensive tackle Kenny Clark and two first-round draft picks in the 2026 and 2027 NFL drafts.

Jones didn’t endear himself with the Cowboys fan base as he called Parsons “Michael” a couple of times in his post-trade press conference.
Losing a player like Parsons, who got a four-year, $188 million ($120 guaranteed) deal from Green Bay, will take time for the Cowboys’ defense to get used to it at this time. NFL fans, especially Cowboys fans, will be watching Parsons carefully to see how he does for the Packers.
