With less than a week until the 2025 NFL season kicks off, Week 1 is shaping up to be an electric start to the season with an exciting slate of games.
All 32 teams will be in action, but several key players have already gone down with injuries during training camp and the preseason. Here’s the complete injury report ahead of week one.

Justin Jefferson, WR, Minnesota Vikings
Justin Jefferson is widely regarded as one of the league’s top receivers, but his Week 1 status has been uncertain due to a mild hamstring strain.

While the injury is a concern, Minnesota Vikings head coach Kevin O’Connell appears confident that Jefferson is on track to play in the team’s opener against the Chicago Bears.
Brandon Aiyuk, WR, San Francisco 49ers
Brandon Aiyuk is still recovering from the torn ACL and MCL he suffered during the San Francisco 49ers’ Week 7 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs in 2024.
According to GM John Lynch and HC Kyle Shanahan, his rehab has been going well. However, he won’t be available for San Francisco’s Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks, as he remains on the Physically Unable to Perform (PUP) list, which sidelines him until at least Week 5 of the 2025 season.
Najee Harris, RB, Los Angeles Chargers
After signing with the Los Angeles Chargers in free agency this offseason, former Steelers RB Najee Harris suffered an eye injury in a freak fireworks accident on July 4.
He recently returned to practice and head coach Jim Harbaugh says he may suit up for Los Angeles in their Week 1 matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs, but his status is still uncertain.
Chris Godwin, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Chris Godwin suffered multiple injuries in 2024, including a dislocated ankle, fractured fibula, and torn deltoid. He required a pair of surgeries and missed the rest of the 2024 season and all of training camp and the preseason, but he recently passed his physical and won’t start the season the PUP list.
While that technically makes him eligible for the team’s opener against the Atlanta Falcons, Buccaneers GM Jason Licht recently confirmed that Godwin will miss at least the first month of the regular season.
Jauan Jennings, WR, San Francisco 49ers
Aiyuk isn’t the only 49ers receiver who could miss the team’s Week 1 matchup with Seattle. Jauan Jennings has been limited for most of the training camp and the preseason due to a calf strain.
Still, Shanahan expects him to be ready for Week 1, but noted that there’s still a possibility he could miss the game.
De’Von Achane, RB, Miami Dolphins
De’Von Achane picked up a calf strain during joint practices earlier this month. He was sidelined for several weeks, missing Miami’s final two preseason games.
While there was initially some concern about Achane missing Week 1, Dolphins GM Chris Grier recently confirmed that he’ll be ready to go in the season opener.
Tyjae Spears, RB, Tennessee Titans
Tyjae Spears suffered a high ankle sprain in the Titans’ preseason opener against the Buccaneers. The team placed him on injured reserve, meaning he’ll miss at least the first four games of the 2025 season. That means he will be out for Tennessee’s Week 1 matchup against the Denver Broncos.
Joe Mixon, RB, Houston Texans
Joe Mixon suffered a non-football-related injury during the offseason, which kept him out of the Texans’ training camp and preseason.

He’s been placed on the team’s NFI list, which will sideline him for at least the first four games of the season, meaning he’ll miss Houston’s Week 1 matchup against the Los Angeles Rams.
Lamar Jackson, QB, Baltimore Ravens
The Baltimore Ravens had a scare late in training camp when Lamar Jackson suffered a foot injury. He missed a week of practice but returned the following week and is expected to be fully healthy for Baltimore’s opener against the Buffalo Bills.
Travis Hunter, CB/WR, Jacksonville Jaguars
2024 Heisman winner Travis Hunter was sidelined for the Jaguars’ last two preseason games against the Miami Dolphins and New Orleans with an upper-body injury.
While he missed time, the Jaguars staff have said it was a precautionary measure and that the No. 2 overall pick will be ready for the team’s opener against the Carolina Panthers.
Jaydon Blue, RB, Dallas Cowboys
Jaydon Blue suffered an ankle injury during the Cowboys’ preseason finale against the Atlanta Falcons. While he returned to practice on August 25, there’s still some uncertainty surrounding the rookie’s status for Dallas’ Week 1 matchup against the Philadelphia Eagles.
Jalen McMillan, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jalen McMillan suffered a sprained neck in the Buccaneers’ Week 2 preseason game against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The second-year wideout was placed on injured reserve (IR), meaning he will not suit up for Tampa Bay’s opener against the Falcons. Not only will he miss the first four games, head coach Todd Bowles has hinted that he could miss a significant chunk of the season.
Quentin Johnston, WR, Los Angeles Chargers
After taking a big hit, Quentin Johnston suffered a serious injury in the team’s preseason game against the Los Angeles Rams. His head hit the turf, resulting in a concussion.
The receiver is in concussion protocol but appears to be on track to play in the team’s opener against the Chiefs.
MarShawn Lloyd, RB, Green Bay Packers
MarShawn Lloyd suffered a hamstring injury in the Packers’ preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts. The team placed him on IR, and he won’t return until at least Week 5, meaning he’ll miss Green Bay’s Week 1 matchup against the Detroit Lions.
Malik Nabers, WR, New York Giants
Malik Nabers has dealt with minor back, shoulder, and toe injuries throughout training camp, keeping him sidelined for most practices and all of the team’s preseason games.
However, it appears this was just a precautionary measure. Nabers recently returned to practice and confirmed that he’ll play in the Giants’ Week 1 game against the Washington Commanders.
Christian Watson, WR, Green Bay Packers
Christian Watson tore his ACL in the final week of the 2024 season and has been working throughout training camp to recover.
However, he has been placed on the PUP list and will miss the first four weeks, including the Packers’ season opener against the Lions.
Darnell Mooney, WR, Atlanta Falcons
Darnell Mooney suffered an injury early in Falcons training camp while diving for a deep pass from QB Michael Penix Jr.
He missed several weeks of practice but returned for the final week before the team’s opener against the Buccaneers. Mooney is trending toward being ready for Week 1.
Jayden Reed, WR, Green Bay Packers
Jayden Reed has been dealing with a fracture in his left foot throughout training camp, but he has opted not to have surgery and will play through the injury during the 2025 season.
Reed returned to practice this week, and the team hopes he’ll be ready for their game against the Lions.
Khalil Shakir, WR, Buffalo Bills
Khalil Shakir has been sidelined with a high ankle sprain, causing him to miss multiple practices and the entire preseason. He is tentatively expected to be ready for Week 1, but it is not a guarantee. Keep an eye on his practice availability over the next week.
Rachaad White, RB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Rachaad White suffered a groin injury during the Buccaneers’ Week 1 preseason game against the Tennessee Titans. Fortunately, he recently returned to practice and is expected to suit up in Week 1 against the Falcons.
Jalen Coker, WR, Carolina Panthers
Jalen Coker suffered a quad injury during the Panthers’ recent practice and the team placed him on short-term IR, meaning he must miss the first four games of the regular season.
There is a lot of excitement about Coker’s sophomore campaign after he flashed as a rookie and had an excellent camp.
