While recovering from a stress fracture that has sidelined him since the 2025 French Open, Sebastian Korda found the perfect way to stay connected to sports. The 24-year-old hit the golf course with his sister Nelly Korda, creating a rare sibling moment between two professional athletes at the top of their respective games.
With Nelly fresh off another dominant LPGA season and Sebastian preparing for his comeback, their golf outing showed that athletic excellence truly runs in the family.
How Did Sebastian Korda and Nelly Korda Spend Time Together?
Sebastian Korda has two older sisters, Jessica, who is 32, and Nelly, who is 27. Both are professional golfers on the LPGA Tour. Nelly is a two-time major champion, has won 15 LPGA titles, and claimed a gold medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. She was also ranked number one in the Women’s World Golf Rankings, among numerous other accolades.
Recently, Nelly took to social media and shared a video capturing the two of them spending time together on a golf course. In the video, Nelly is seated on a golf cart, watching her brother play.
“hits it to 3ft @sebastiankorda,” Nelly captioned her Instagram story.
“Was indeed the right club,” Korda wrote.

During his recovery, Korda has focused on spending time with family and his girlfriend, Ivana Nedved. The stress fracture in his shin forced him to step away from competitive tennis since his appearance at Roland Garros, where he was seeded 23rd.
At the 2025 French Open, Korda defeated Luciano Darderi 6-2, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2 and Jenson Brooksby 6-1, 6-2, 7-6(2) in the first two rounds, respectively. His run ended in the third round when he faced 15th seed Frances Tiafoe, losing in straight sets 6-7(6), 3-6, 4-6.
When Will Sebastian Korda Return to Competition?
The injury that has kept Korda away from tennis since June has forced him to miss several key tournaments. Following his run at the 2025 French Open, Korda missed out on competing on the grass court swing due to the stress fracture. He withdrew from the 2025 BOSS Open in Stuttgart, the Queen’s Club Championships, and did not participate in the Wimbledon Championships.
Additionally, the former World No. 15 was scheduled to start his North American hard court season by defending his title at the 2025 Citi DC Open. However, the injury to his shin also forced him to withdraw from that tournament.
Korda is expected to compete next at the 2025 Winston-Salem Open, which will be held from August 17 to August 23, 2025, at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. This tournament will mark his first appearance during the North American hard-court swing and will be his only event leading up to the 2025 US Open.
In addition to Korda, other players anticipated to participate in the ATP 250 hard court tournament in North Carolina include defending champion Lorenzo Sonego, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Nuno Borges, Sebastián Báez, and Giovanni Mpetshi Perricard, among others.
Following the Winston-Salem Open, Korda will compete in the New York Major. His best result at a Grand Slam event has been reaching the second round in 2022 and 2024.
Last year, Korda was seeded 16th at the US Open. He won his first-round match against Corentin Moutet with a scoreline of 7-6(3), 6-1, 6-0. However, he was eliminated in the second round by Tomáš Macháč, with a final score of 6-4, 6-2, 6-4.
