The San Francisco 49ers and Las Vegas Raiders clash Saturday, aiming to notch their first preseason wins
Las Vegas will likely let its starters take snaps in the first quarter. That means Raiders fans could see quarterback Geno Smith, running back Ashton Jeanty and defensive end Maxx Crosby.
San Francisco head coach Kyle Shanahan will probably take the opposite approach and keep Christian McCaffrey and company in bubble wrap until the regular season.

What Time Does the NFL Network Coverage Begin?
The 49ers and Raiders face off Saturday, Aug. 16, at 4 p.m. ET. NFL Network will start its coverage at noon ET with “NFL Gameday Kickoff,” hosted by Mike Yam, with analysts David Carr and Steve Wyche.
The preseason game will air at 4 p.m. ET on NFL+. Both fan bases also have local options to watch the game.

Who Are the Game Announcers for the San Francisco 49ers vs. Las Vegas Raiders?
The 49ers’ team on KPIX 5 is led by play-by-play announcer Guy Haberman, who is filling in for longtime Niners voice Greg Papa. Papa is undergoing cancer treatment and has said he expects a full recovery. Tim Ryan joins Haberman as the color analyst. The same team can be heard on KFSO 810 AM and KSAN 107.7 FM.
Papa is a fixture in Bay Area sports, having served as the play-by-play announcer for the Golden State Warriors from 1986 to 1997, the Oakland A’s from 1991 to 2003, and the Oakland Raiders from 1997 to 2018.
Ryan has teamed with Papa since 2019. He played defensive tackle for the Chicago Bears from 1990 to 1993.
Jason Horowitz handles the Raiders’ play-by-play, with Rich Gannon and Kirk Morrison providing color commentary. The same crew can be heard on KOMP 92.3 FM and Raider Nation Radio 920 AM.
Gannon played quarterback for the Oakland Raiders from 1999 to 2004, where he experienced the most success in his 17-year career. He won MVP in 2002 and led the Raiders to Super Bowl XXXVII against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Gannon was selected to two Pro Bowls in 2000 and 2002 and led the Raiders to two AFC title games.
Morrison played linebacker in the NFL for eight seasons, the first five with the Oakland Raiders. This is his first season on the Raiders’ broadcast team.
“I loved playing football, but I wanted to be a broadcaster whenever I finished and hung up my cleats. And I’ve done that on a national scale. But now, joining the Raiders, I pinch myself. It doesn’t even feel like it’s real,” Morrison said. “This is a dream come true. I stand on the shoulders of guys that came before me.”
The Raiders head into the matchup following a 23-23 draw with the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. The 49ers, meanwhile, are coming off a 30-9 loss to the Denver Broncos on Saturday.
