The 2025 NFL season is underway, and the Baltimore Ravens have started the season 1-3. They recently lost 37-20 to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 4, and quarterback Lamar Jackson suffered a hamstring injury.
Jackson is the main guy in Baltimore. And behind him? A mix of experience, upside, and one very clear goal for the franchise: getting over the postseason hump. Here’s how the Ravens’ quarterback depth chart looks with their starting quarterback expected to miss time.
Who Are the Quarterbacks for the 2025 Baltimore Ravens?
Lamar Jackson
Let’s not overthink it: Jackson is one of the best quarterbacks in football. The Ravens live and die by his playmaking, and he just keeps getting better.
In 2024, Jackson put together one of the best seasons of his career, throwing for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. Let that sink in: 41 touchdowns and just four picks. Efficient like no other.
He’s a two-time MVP; however, still chasing the one thing missing from his resume: a trip to the Super Bowl. Baltimore came close last season before falling short against Buffalo. With a retooled roster and Jackson firmly in his prime, they’re hoping this is the year.
Jackson was listed as questionable for Week 5, and as per the Baltimore Sun’s Brian Wacker, the Ravens superstar is unlikely to play against the Houston Texans.
“Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is likely to miss Sunday’s game against the visiting Houston Texans with a hamstring injury, two sources with direct knowledge of the situation confirmed to The Baltimore Sun on Tuesday,” Wacker wrote. “Given the nature of the injury, he also could be out for up to 2-3 weeks, one of the sources said.”
Cooper Rush
Backing up Jackson this season is Cooper Rush, a veteran with plenty of NFL experience and a calm presence in the huddle. Rush spent the last seven years in Dallas, where he became a trusted backup to Dak Prescott. He’s made 14 career starts and won nine of them, including some clutch moments when Dallas needed him most.
Rush isn’t flashy, and he’s not going to mimic Jackson’s style, but that’s not his job. He’s here to be steady, smart, and ready if his number is called. For a team with championship aspirations, having a capable QB2 like Rush is a safety net you want to have.
Tyler Huntley
Tyler Huntley signed with the Ravens after the Cleveland Browns released him before the start of the season. He is currently on Baltimore’s practice squad, but with Jackson expected not to play in Week 5, Huntley will get elevated to the 53-man roster.
He has played 20 games in four seasons with the Ravens, including nine starts. Over his career, Huntley has thrown for 2,786 yards, 11 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. The 27-year-old quarterback has also rushed for 644 yards and eight touchdowns in his career.
Is This the Most Balanced Quarterback Room Lamar Jackson Has Had?
So here’s where Baltimore stands: three quarterbacks, each in a very different spot in their career, but all part of the bigger picture. Jackson is the superstar. Rush is the seasoned backup. Huntley is the reliable emergency quarterback.
If Jackson stays healthy, and that’s always the big “if” in the NFL, the Ravens should once again be in the thick of the AFC title race. However, since he has suffered an injury, Baltimore’s quarterback room still has enough capable players like Rush and Huntley to step in.
It’s a long season ahead, but the Ravens seem ready for whatever comes their way.
