Legendary cornerback Eric Allen will be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame on Saturday, Aug. 2, in recognition of a stellar 14-year career. The former Philadelphia Eagles star, who recorded 34 interceptions in just seven years with the team, will forever be a member of the football elite.
But is Allen married? We take a brief look at the former player’s personal life.
Is Eric Allen Married?
Allen is married to his wife, Lynn. The couple lives in San Diego, California, and has four children. Allen posts mainly about football, showing support for his former teams, but occasionally features his family in posts to his X account.
Lynn, meanwhile, is an avid supporter of her husband and has been campaigning for his Hall of Fame induction for several years.
The couple’s strong bond seems to have carried over to their children. When Allen’s former Arizona State teammate Randall McDaniel surprised him with the Hall of Fame news, Allen’s three sons were clearly excited for their dad.
Hall of Fame Induction Is Fitting Reward for Allen’s Magnificent Career
Allen was a finalist for the Hall of Fame class of 2024 but had to wait another year. That didn’t matter to the former Eagle, who spent 14 seasons making life tough for NFL quarterbacks.
A second-round pick out of Arizona State in 1988, Allen started all 16 games as a rookie and recorded five interceptions. After picking off eight passes, he was named a first-team All-Pro the following season.
In 1993, Allen recorded six interceptions, returning for 201 yards and four touchdowns. Those four pick-sixes were tied for the NFL all-time single-season record until Dallas Cowboys star DaRon Bland recorded six in 2023.
One of those 1993 pick-sixes was on a pass from legendary Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Boomer Esiason, who was playing for the New York Jets at the time. Allen returned the interception 94 yards to the opposing end zone; the play is considered one of the greatest pick-sixes ever.
A 6x Pro Bowl selection with 54 career INTs, and now a Hall of Famer.

That year, Allen was named a second-team All-Pro and earned the fourth of his six Pro Bowl nods. Spells with the New Orleans Saints and the Oakland Raiders followed his time in Philadelphia, but he will always be most fondly remembered for his time with the Eagles.
His 54 career interceptions rank 21st of all time, tied with Derrell Green and Willie Brown. His eight career pick-sixes are tied for the eighth-most in NFL history, with Ronde Barber, Janoris Jenkins, and Charles Tillman.
