The Baltimore Ravens entered training camp aiming to field one of the NFL’s top offenses behind quarterback Lamar Jackson. With weapons like Mark Andrews, Zay Flowers, and Isaiah Likely, their receiving group is among the league’s most dangerous.
That core took a hit today, as Likely reportedly suffered a lower leg injury during practice.
Isaiah Likely Carted Off with Lower Leg Injury, Expected to Miss a Few Weeks
Likely was carted off the field during today’s training camp practice with a lower leg injury, according to Ari Meirov of The 33rd Team.
The injury is a blow to the Ravens’ offense, as Likely has been an integral part of the team since they drafted him in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
Likely forms one of the league’s best tight end duos alongside Andrews. The former Coastal Carolina star has started 49 games in his three seasons with Baltimore, accumulating 1,261 yards and 14 touchdowns.

As of now, it’s unclear exactly what injury Likely suffered or how serious it is. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh said the young tight end rolled his ankle on a play.
The team will have a better idea of how much time he will likely miss after an MRI scheduled for tomorrow, but Harbaugh expects his recovery to take only a few weeks.

“We’ll know more tomorrow,” Harbaugh said. “It’s going to be a few weeks. He rolled his ankle in the foot area. We’ll get an MRI tomorrow and see exactly what needs to be done. It’s good that it’s this early in camp.”
The head coach’s optimism is a good sign, as lower leg injuries are never easy. However, based on Harbaugh’s statement, it doesn’t seem like he believes the injury will be season-ending, at least for now.
Likely was poised for a big year in what will be his final season under contract with Baltimore. Had he produced at a high level again, the former fourth-round pick could have earned a significant payday either from the Ravens or another team in free agency.
The injury, if serious, could hurt his value across the league ahead of his next contract. However, with Harbaugh not sounding too concerned, there’s a chance Likely will be healthy before the season starts.
The Ravens open the year on September 7 in a Sunday Night Football matchup against the Buffalo Bills. That team knocked them out in the AFC Divisional Round, a game where Likely had four receptions, 73 yards, and a touchdown.
