Mason Marchment is slated to begin a new chapter of his life with the Seattle Kraken. The former Dallas Stars forward was traded to the Kraken for a third-round pick in the 2026 NHL draft and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 draft. Marchment has one year remaining on his four-year contract worth $18 million before he hits free agency in 2026. The 30-year-old accumulated 47 points in 62 regular-season games for the Stars last season.
However, Marchment was caught in a whirlwind of emotions off the ice. Alexis ‘Lexy’ Marchment is eight months pregnant with the couple’s baby boy. As wonderful as this time is for the couple, in a recent Instagram post, Alexis admitted that getting here was far from easy.

The Marchments are basking in the warmth of a really special moment. Alexis is eight months pregnant with the couple’s baby boy. In one of her stories, Lexy admitted that she discovered the baby’s gender before Mason and went shopping for a blue onesie for her husband to open. “I accidentally found out the gender before Mason, so I ran to the mall and got a blue onesie for him to open. Excited to have another boy to love.”

However, amid all the smiles and the anticipation, there lies profound sadness that the couple and their loved ones had to endure not too long ago. Last year, shortly after getting married to one another, Mason and Alexis had to deal with the bitter reality of a miscarriage. While savoring every minute of her pregnancy, Alexis cannot help but remember the hurt she had to overcome to get here.

In her last story, Alexis addressed the enormous pain she had to go through and how thankful she was for her support system. “Thank you so much for all the love. Pregnancy after a loss has not been easy mentally. Every symptom, ultrasound, and week has been so exciting but all surrounded by anxiety. Grateful for my husband, the worlds best OB and now a forever friend @julesklein927, God, and all my girls that have been my backbone through it all.”
With Marchment’s move to the Kraken and the anticipation of the couple’s baby boy, this is surely an exciting time for the family early in the 2025 NHL offseason cycle.
