What Are the Major Fixes in College Football 26’s Title Update?

Since College Football 26 hit shelves on July 10, players have been vocal about several game-breaking bugs. EA responded yesterday with a title update that addresses the biggest issues.

Sports game content creator Eric Rayweather broke down what EA planned to fix, highlighting three major problems that have now been resolved.

The Kicking Nightmare Gets Fixed

Players were reportedly getting locked out of field goal attempts in certain situations, which is about as frustrating as it gets. Rayweather explained that EA tracked down the source: the bug only hit left-footed kickers when a blocked field goal animation triggered.

EA confirmed this fix made it into yesterday’s title update, so you should be able to kick field goals normally again.

Stiff Arm Gets Dialed Back

Anyone who’s played College Football 26 knows the stiff arm has been ridiculously overpowered. Players have been complaining about this since day one, and EA finally listened.

Rayweather noted that EA has toned down the stiff arm in this update, though only partially. The company is still gathering data on how dominant the move is and plans to keep tweaking it.

Pre-Snap Camera Bug Eliminated

There’s been a rare but maddening glitch where players who checked the wide camera angle before the snap couldn’t snap the ball when they switched back to the standard view. EA acknowledged player complaints about this issue and included a fix in the title update.

The full list of updates can be found in the patch notes on EA’s Forums. Other problems addressed include linebacker speed, reducing the window for a “perfectly timed” stiff arm, and more fine-tuning for the updated interception system.

How Does This Update Address Player Concerns?

The gaming community has been pretty vocal about College Football 26’s problems. Many players feel the game launched with too many bugs, especially since developers had a full year to address the issues that plagued College Football 25. Some of those same problems carried over.

However, the game has made real improvements over last year’s version. Multiple game modes received quality-of-life updates that improve the overall experience.

With yesterday’s title update fixing the most serious gameplay problems, players should be able to enjoy the game again instead of fighting through glitches.

As the 2025 college football season inches closer, though, expect the video game developers to continue updating the game by fixing bugs, updating assets like uniforms, and more.
