‘It Didn’t Heal’ — Senators Star Brady Tkachuk Reveals Extent of Injury He Suffered in 2025 Season

While the injury rumors regarding Brady Tkachuk have been going all over the place, the Senators captain made all things clear on his condition.

While the Ottawa Senators looked poised to go pretty far in this year’s playoffs, an untimely injury to captain and star player Brady Tkachuk derailed their journey when he was injured on March 30.

Postgame, he admitted to the media that he had incurred a hip injury during the 4 Nations Face-off, where he represented America. Instead of resting, he further competed for the Senators. All this had put him on the shelf for their postseason.

And while Tkachuk had been positive about his eventual return to the ice, he recently came clean about his injury status.

Brady Tkachuk Lets Everyone Know the Extent of His Injuries

Tkachuk first injured his hip while playing for Team USA in February. But once he returned to the Senators, he continued playing until, in a game against the Pittsburgh Penguins, he was hit high after colliding with Ryan Graves.

But while he eventually returned to play for the Senators, it was clear that he wasn’t in full health. Since their round one exit against Toronto, Tkachuk conveyed that he was feeling fine. That was until he appeared on the latest episode of the ‘Coming in Hot Podcast.’

Hosts soon asked Tkachuk how long it took him to get healthy after the season was over. To this, Tkachuk replied, “I definitely, uh, went with a more conservative approach.” This injury kept him on the shelf for over eight games.

Tkachuk further continued with, “Um, I wouldn’t say I had like anything major, just uh, you know, just rest and I think I took, you know, six weeks off of, you know, not doing anything and uh, you know, doing some like little rehab exercises.”

He mentioned that he feels great now. The hosts asked if it was a hip flexor or lower ab issue, since Tkachuk never disclosed the details. He replied, “I mean, it was like, um, it’s kind of like those muscles like the hip flexor, um, little groin at, like, just kind of like all in that general vicinity.

“I don’t know, it was just pulled, it didn’t heal, and I just kept playing on it.” He feels happy with how everything went down and how he got to heal the injury completely. Tkachuk ended it with, “So, I’m happy with kind of how everything’s been going and how I’m feeling right now.”

That said, Tkachuk could very well be back by the preseason.
