Fox Sports just dropped a bombshell that sent shockwaves through the sports media world. The network announced the cancellation of three shows on its cable network, Fox Sports 1, leaving former NFL players who co-hosted all three programs scrambling for new opportunities with the season about to start.
But one former quarterback isn’t going quietly. Chase Daniel, one of the four co-hosts of “The Facility,” took to social media with a heartfelt message that showed the class and resilience that made him a 13-year NFL veteran.
What Did Chase Daniel Say About “The Facility” Cancellation?
“The Facility,” “Speak,” and “Breakfast Ball” were canceled as Fox Sports looked to retool ahead of the NFL season. The Athletic’s Andrew Marchand recently wrote about the programming changes, noting that the shows “struggled to find a huge audience.”
Daniel co-hosted “The Facility” with Emmanuel Acho, James Jones, and LeSean McCoy. The show was marketed as “from the athlete’s perspective,” with the panel covering current sports topics.
Meanwhile, Joy Taylor, former NBA champion Paul Pierce, and former NFL receiver Keyshawn Johnson co-hosted “Speak” for three years. However, “The Facility” and “Breakfast Ball” didn’t make it to their first anniversaries before being canceled.
“This has to be LeBron’s last year if the Lakers want to win. I don’t see coexistence of LeBron & Luka with championships.”

Following the announcement, the former quarterback took to X to express his feelings about the surprise decision.
Daniel tweeted, “Really thankful for the chance to work with so many great people–on and off camera–on FS1’s The Facility. While the news was unexpected and change is never easy, I’ve learned through my time in the NFL that you’ve got to be adaptable & resilient through the highs & the lows.
“Thank you to everyone at Fox Sports for the experience, support and memories! I will praise & trust God on the mountain tops & in the valleys!”

How Does Daniel’s NFL Experience Prepare Him for This Setback?
This situation hits particularly hard for Daniel, as “The Facility” was his first full-time media gig since retiring following the 2022 season.
The journeyman made 74 starts for six teams over 13 years in the NFL. He saw action in four playoff games without recording a statistic, and he only started five games during his career, amassing a 2-3 record.

Daniel started his own YouTube show while playing and has continued to grow it throughout his time at FS1. He also added color commentary to his resume this spring by calling UFL games for Fox.
Although the show’s cancellation is disappointing, as Daniel brought well-thought-out insights to “The Facility,” he seems ready for whatever comes next. Networks should be lining up to sign the former quarterback to their NFL coverage.
