The trade rumors have been swirling for months. Every playoff disappointment brings fresh speculation about Giannis Antetokounmpo’s future in Milwaukee. But now the Bucks president has stepped forward with comments that paint a completely different picture of what’s really happening behind the scenes.
What Did Peter Feigin Reveal About Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Future?
During Sunday’s telecast of the Milwaukee Bucks’ NBA Summer League game against the Los Angeles Clippers, Feigin offered an important update that has calmed some of the speculation surrounding Antetokounmpo’s future.
“We kind of laugh internally, it’s where we’ve been for 10 years. Giannis loves Milwaukee, Milwaukee loves Giannis. We’re in a good place. We feel great about it. It’s business as usual. I think we get kind of a fun little joy, and everybody else thinks that they know what’s going on, and kind of and know what the clickbait is.”
“You know, for us, we’re in a good spot, Giannis is in a good spot. He’s enjoying the summer. We’re looking forward to next season,” said Feigin during the telecast.

This statement didn’t just serve as reassurance. It also connected the dots back to an earlier report from ESPN’s Brian Windhorst.
In that report, Windhorst stated that Antetokounmpo had not applied any pressure on the Bucks’ front office for a trade during the offseason. This now aligns seamlessly with Feigin’s recent comments, suggesting that Antetokounmpo never wanted to leave in the first place.
“I honestly do not see how the Bucks are going to be a team at the end of the week, we look at and say that’s a guaranteed top-4 team”

“He did not apply pressure this offseason by sort of making it clear that he wanted to be there. He has basically done his regular offseason, gone overseas… And the Bucks, who are really strapped from a suspending an asset perspective, I don’t see as much that they can do,” said Windhorst previously.
How Are the Bucks Building Around Giannis for 2025-26?
While all eyes have been on Antetokounmpo, the Bucks’ front office has been hard at work reshaping the roster for a deeper run in 2025-26. During this offseason, Milwaukee waived and stretched Damian Lillard to create cap space and signed Myles Turner to a four-year, $108.8 million deal.
Turner was instrumental in the Pacers’ run to the NBA Finals this past season, as he averaged 13.8 points and 4.8 rebounds throughout the postseason.
However, the Bucks didn’t stop there. They are now expected to sign young guard Cole Anthony to inject some energy into the backcourt and have also re-signed key role players to maintain roster continuity. These strategic moves show Milwaukee is serious about contending in the 2025-26 season.
The speculation began after the Milwaukee Bucks were eliminated in the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs by the Indiana Pacers in just five games. Both fans and analysts started to question whether the two-time MVP would think about leaving the team to win another title with an improved supporting cast. While the rumor mill cooled off slightly in recent weeks, whispers have continued to circulate about which franchises might make a run at Antetokounmpo.
Antetokounmpo averaged 30.4 points, 11.9 rebounds, and 6.5 assists in the regular season. During the postseason, he averaged 33.0 points per game, but it wasn’t enough to carry the Bucks deep into the playoffs. With a retooled roster, the 2025-26 season could be a defining chapter for both Antetokounmpo and the franchise.
