Aryna Sabalenka may have fallen short in her pursuit of a Wimbledon title this year, but the Belarusian tennis star received a heartfelt reminder that she’s not alone in the aftermath of her tough semifinal defeat.
Following her exit from the 2025 Wimbledon Championships, Sabalenka received a wholesome message from her boyfriend, Georgios Frangulis, the owner of the health foods brand Oakberry.

Sabalenka, the No. 1 seed at this year’s Wimbledon, arrived at the All England Club as a strong favorite to lift the Venus Rosewater Dish. Having made back-to-back semifinals in 2021 and 2023 (she was absent in 2022 due to a ban on Russian and Belarusian athletes), she was looking to go one better this year.
Her path through the draw was impressive, with dominant wins over Carson Branstine, Marie Bouzková, Emma Raducanu, 24th seed Elise Mertens, and Laura Siegemund. But her hopes were dashed in a tightly contested semifinal against No. 13 seed Amanda Anisimova, who edged her out 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.

Despite the disappointment, Sabalenka kept her spirits high. She took to Instagram after the match to share a collection of images from her fortnight at SW19, expressing her gratitude for the experience. “Thank you @wimbledon for a special two weeks filled with great atmosphere and great opponents. I’m grateful I was able to compete this year and I will see you next year,” she captioned her post.

Sabalenka’s boyfriend Frangulis commented on the post: “Te amo,” he wrote, a Spanish expression meaning “I love you.”
The couple went public with their relationship last year and have since been spotted together at various tournaments, with Frangulis often traveling to support Sabalenka from the stands.
‘Losing Sucks…You Don’t Want To Exist Anymore’ — Sabalenka on Her Wimbledon Exit
In her post-match press conference, Sabalenka gave a raw and emotional response to her Wimbledon semifinal loss. “Losing sucks,” she said. “You always feel like you want to die, you don’t want to exist anymore, and this is the end of your life.”
“But then you sit there a little bit and you think about what you could have done differently on the match, and you see stuff where you wasn’t at your best in the match, and you see that the other player perform much better, and you can see things better,” the Belarusian added.
Sabalenka spoke about her desire to capture her first Wimbledon title, noting:
“The first moment is always the worst one because every time you compete at the tournament and you get to these last stages, you think that you’re getting close to your dream, and then you lose the match and you feel like, okay, this is the end.”
I cannot understand how Sabakenka is allowed to shout so much on court even when she is not hitting a ball. So happy I will be able to watch the final without having to put the sound of my tv down .
