Mark Wahlberg has always been Boston through and through. The actor and former rapper bleeds green for the Celtics, cheers for the Bruins, and never misses a chance to support his beloved New England Patriots. But now, living in Las Vegas and watching Tom Brady build something special with the Raiders, Wahlberg might be ready to make a move that would shock every Boston sports fan.
Could Mark Wahlberg Actually Join Tom Brady’s Raiders Ownership Group?
Living in Sin City has opened up new possibilities for Wahlberg, mainly due to his connection with Patriots legend Tom Brady.
“I know people are gonna give me a lot of s**t for this, but I live in Vegas,” Wahlberg told “Complex” in a recent viral clip. “Tom’s got a piece of the Raiders. A lot of my friends just got a piece of the Raiders.”

“I went to six Raiders home games last year,” Wahlberg added. “You could easily find me being at my home team.”
Despite his Boston roots, Wahlberg’s proximity to his current home and the potential for profit make an investment in the Raiders realistic. The Raiders rank No. 7 on Forbes’ list of the most valuable NFL franchises, totaling $6.7 billion. The organization opened Allegiant Stadium in 2020, and the average ticket cost $169, the highest of any team in the NFL.
This wouldn’t be Wahlberg’s first venture into sports ownership. After buying a stake in the Barbados Tridents cricket team in 2013, the actor already has business interests in the sports world. While much time has passed since then, it’s one of several business transactions that show Wahlberg isn’t afraid to invest in teams.
How Have the Raiders Changed Since Brady Joined the Organization?
Brady became a minority owner of the Raiders in 2023, continuing his involvement in the NFL after the end of his playing career. He joined a group led by majority owner Mark Davis, the son of Al Davis, who owned the team from 1972 until he died in 2011.
Brady’s influence with the team expanded during the 2025 offseason. He and the organization brought in Jon Spytek as the team’s general manager and Super Bowl champion Pete Carroll as the team’s new head coach.
The roster transformation continued throughout the offseason. The team acquired Geno Smith from the Seattle Seahawks via trade and drafted Ashton Jeanty, a dynamic running back prospect out of Boise State, with the sixth overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. They join an offense that features a budding superstar in second-year tight end Brock Bowers and a productive veteran wide receiver in Jakobi Meyers.
Beyond the new faces, star defensive end Maxx Crosby inked a massive three-year, $106.5 million contract extension, a then-record for a non-quarterback.
The Raiders hope to improve upon a disappointing 2024 season that saw them finish in fourth place in the AFC West with a 4-13 record. The team’s changes aim to propel them back to the postseason for the first time since the 2021 NFL season.
Whether Wahlberg buys an ownership stake in the Raiders organization remains to be seen. Until then, expect the actor to be seen at Allegiant Stadium in 2025, taking in Raiders games.
