‘I Think I Might Have Asked Only Jannik Sinner’ – Novak Djokovic on Son Stefan’s Autograph-Laden Hat at Wimbledon

Novak Djokovic shared a lighthearted story about his son's autograph-filled hat, revealing it includes signatures from Jannik Sinner and Flavio Cobolli.

Novak Djokovic walked into his Wimbledon press room smiling after his comeback win against Alex de Minaur. A lighthearted moment came when a reporter asked Djokovic about a white hat that his son Stefan was wearing, which “was covered in player autographs.”

Djokovic smiled and explained his contribution to those autographs and even gave an insight about his son’s interaction with Flavio Cobolli, the Serb’s quarter-final opponent at Wimbledon.

Stefan Djokovic’s Autographed White Hat

Stefan’s hat includes a signature from world No. 1 Jannik Sinner, courtesy of his father, and Cobolli, who invited the youngster to the practice courts.

As the reporter asked Djokovic, “Your son Stefan was wearing one of your white hats and it was covered in player autographs. Are you helping him get those? Who’s he got?”

The Serb revealed, “Most of them, he’s been independently approaching and asking for autographs. I think I might have asked only Jannik or someone. Everyone else he’s approached, and he even got a chance to play with Cobolli, my next opponent. They hit a few days ago. He’s over the moon.”

Novak talked about Stefan’s love for the sport and added, “He loves tennis.”

The one name missing from the hat is Novak Djokovic himself who has 24 career Slams and 101 match wins at the All England Club.

“He has everyone’s signature except mine, but that’s ok. I’ll accept that,” Djokovic said with a smile during the post-match conference

Novak Djokovic’s Upcoming Quarterfinal Clash Against Flavio Cobolli

Djokovic is set to face Cobolli in the Wimbledon quarterfinals on Wednesday. Djokovic is aiming for his eighth Wimbledon title and a record 25th Grand Slam singles trophy.

He battled through a tough fourth-round encounter with de Minaur to earn his spot by winning 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4. Despite a shaky start and facing 19 break points, Djokovic showed resilience, turning the match around and clinching his 101st singles win at Wimbledon. This quarterfinal will mark Djokovic’s 63rd appearance at this stage of a major.

On the other side, Cobolli has reached his first Grand Slam quarterfinal after defeating Marin Cilic in four sets, 6-4, 6-4, 6-7(4), 7-6(3). This was the 63rd career match win for the Italian. The No. 22 seed defeated the No. 15 seed Jakub Menšík in his third-round match and won a four-set battle against Marin Čilić in the fourth round.

Cobolli also faced some off-court challenges, including a last-minute change in accommodation during the tournament. His run at Wimbledon has been impressive so far but now, he faces the toughest test of his career against Djokovic, who leads their head-to-head 1-0 after a straight-sets win in Shanghai last year.
