Patrick Mahomes has widely been viewed as the best quarterback in the NFL since taking over as a starter ahead of the 2018 season. He has thrown for 32,352 yards, 245 touchdowns and 74 interceptions while completing 66.6% of his pass attempts. The Kansas City Chiefs star has added 2,243 rushing yards and 14 touchdowns on 432 carries.
Mahomes has led the franchise to five Super Bowl appearances, winning three titles and three Super Bowl MVP awards. Meanwhile, he has advanced to the AFC championship game in each of his seven seasons. From an individual standpoint, he has taken home two MVP awards while earning three All-Pro nods and six Pro Bowl selections.
It is no surprise that with all the success he has found in his career, Mahomes faces the expectation of winning every season. The 10th overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft recently shared his goal for the upcoming season.
Chiefs Star Patrick Mahomes Reveals His Goal for the Upcoming 2025 Season
While he is not even a decade into his professional career, Mahomes has already done enough to earn induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He recently participated in the Chiefs’ 2025 Roll Call, where he revealed his nickname is “Showtime.” The superstar quarterback noted that he is entering his ninth season, enjoys spending time with his kids, and missed GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium.
Mahomes also shared a very simple goal for the 2025 season, writing, writing:
“Get a Super Bowl win.”

Mahomes has already accomplished plenty from an individual standpoint. He has reached the stage of his career where his legacy will likely be judged based on how many Super Bowl titles he is able to win. The Kansas City star has already tied Troy Aikman for the fourth-most Super Bowl wins as a starter with three.
If he is able to accomplish his goal for the 2025 season and win his fourth championship, he would move into a tie with Joe Montana and Terry Bradshaw for second all-time. While he would still need three more titles to catch Tom Brady — who retired after the 2022 season with seven Super Bowl titles — a fourth title in his ninth season would put Mahomes on a great pace.
Brady won three titles in his first five seasons but did not win his fourth until his 15th season.
