Finding the perfect trick play or “gimmick play” in the perfect moment can be difficult because if it fails, disaster can strike. Finding a good one can boost your offense instantly.

5. Chicago Bears Shotgun Y Off Trips – HB Direct Snap
The play works exactly like it sounds — the snap goes directly to the halfback, and take it outside or take in between the tackles.
This play can lead to some huge gains when mixed in correctly. You can create a nice scheme out of this Shotgun Y Off Trips formation along with the play “RPO Read Y Flat.”
4. Spread Alternate Monster – RPO Zone Alert
Found only in the Spread playbook, the Monster formation has three offensive linemen in the box and two out wide with the receivers. This formation causes major alignment issues in the defense, especially if they are not base-aligned, and you can really gash the defense in the run game.
Feel free to throw it out wide to either receiver on a smoke screen if you have the numbers advantage.
3. Carolina Panthers Shotgun Bunch Str Nasty – MTN Double Pass
A trick play in one of the best formations in the game? Sign me up.
This play can be viewed almost as a glorified swing screen, but with the option to pass deep downfield, too.
The outside bunch wide receiver will automatically go in motion and catch the ball behind the line of scrimmage with the ability to keep or throw the ball downfield. I prefer to keep and pick up some nice yards, especially against zone coverage.
2. Run N Gun Alternate – Power
This is not only one of the best trick plays, but one of the best run plays overall in Madden NFL 25.
The fake jet sweep motion from the other running backs is used as a great lead blocker for taking this run to the outside. You can also pitch the ball to the motion man by pressing the LB button on Xbox or L1 on PlayStation.
Using this play with a player like Christian McCaffrey or Breece Hall makes the most sense as they have some of the best spin and juke animations in the game.
1. Miami Dolphins Pistol Tight Y Off Flex – Cheat HB Double Pass
The Miami Dolphins’ “Cheat Motion” offense has been added to Madden NFL 25 and it is a ton of fun to use.
The Dolphins’ Pistol Tight Y Off Flex offers both the “Cheat HB Double Pass” and the “Cheat TE Double Pass.” Both are great, but we prefer the one to the halfback because there is usually more speed at that position.

Similar to the Panthers’ double pass mentioned above, we have the option to keep with the running back or pass downfield.
