It’s that time of year again. The 2022 Reese’s Senior Bowl is upon us! Just as it does every year, the Senior Bowl will provide an opportunity for some of the top 2022 NFL Draft prospects to shine against formidable competition in Mobile, Alabama. Here’s a preview of the 2022 Senior Bowl and the TV coverage schedule for the event.
When is the 2022 Senior Bowl?
The 2022 Senior Bowl game takes place at 2:30 PM ET on Saturday, February 5. It’ll be played by the National Team and the American Team, coached by the New York Jets and Detroit Lions, respectively. That game is the only part of the week in which top prospects will take up arms against one another. Most of the week is actually spent on practice for the two individual teams.
Most players, coaches, and executives will have arrived by Monday, January 31. Practices start on Tuesday and run through Thursday. On each day, there are two separate practice sessions — one for the National Team, and one for the American Team. The National Team practice session runs from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM each day. There is then a half-hour break before the American Team practice session commences at 2 PM and runs until 4 PM.

Thursday concludes the three-day practice session. There is a break in the action on Friday, and it all culminates in the Senior Bowl game on Saturday afternoon.
Last year, the National Team, led by former Dolphins head coach Brian Flores, won against Matt Rhule’s American squad in a 27-24 showdown. The MVP of the game was Texas A&M quarterback Kellen Mond, whom the Vikings selected in the third round of the 2021 NFL Draft.
Senior Bowl TV coverage
The 2022 Senior Bowl will have plenty of TV coverage. On Saturday, the game will be broadcast live on NFL Network at 2:30 PM Eastern. But you don’t have to wait that long to get in on the action. Wednesday and Thursday practices will be televised on ESPNU. There will also be hour-long recaps of Senior Bowl festivities each night at 8 PM on NFL Network.
