2022 2-Round NFL Mock Draft: Round 2 | Picks 33-43
As with the first round, plenty of teams have multiple picks on Day 2. The Jets own two picks in the top six selections of the second round.
33) Jacksonville Jaguars: Devonte Wyatt, DT, Georgia
There’s very little reason for Wyatt to fall this far, but since he did, the Jaguars take advantage. He could be the long-term 3-technique the Jaguars thought Taven Bryan could be.
34) Detroit Lions: Lewis Cine, S, Georgia
The Lions did well setting the table on Day 1, and they land another stud on Day 2. Cine could provide a long-term replacement for Quandre Diggs.
35) New York Jets: Roger McCreary, CB, Auburn
McCreary is exactly what the Jets need in the secondary. He’s aggressive and should fit in well with Saleh’s defensive scheme.
36) New York Giants: Tyler Linderbaum, C, Iowa
The Giants land a hat trick of special talent in the first two rounds. Linderbaum is an elite piece to place in the center of the offensive line.
37) Houston Texans: Jaquan Brisker, S, Penn State
Brisker joins Gardner in the secondary and immediately makes the Texans’ defense exponentially better. Brisker is a rare size/speed talent at safety, and he should be able to make plays immediately.
38) New York Jets: Christian Harris, LB, Alabama
Again, the Jets are slowly rebuilding their defense, and adding a long-term successor for C.J. Mosley should be a priority. Harris should come and learn from the veteran before taking his place.
39) Chicago Bears: Tyler Smith, OT, Tulsa
If the Bears are going to give Justin Fields a fair shot, they need to protect him properly. Smith can compete for a starting job on the outside.
40) Seattle Seahawks: Chad Muma, LB, Wyoming
Muma should be able to settle into Bobby Wagner’s role and provide some relief on defense. The Seahawks need to continue to build on defense at this point.
41) Seattle Seahawks: Bernhard Raimann, OT, Central Michigan
The Seahawks settle two major spots on the depth chart with back-to-back picks. Raimann can be the long-term replacement for Duane Brown, who remains a free agent.
42) Indianapolis Colts: Kenyon Green, G, Texas A&M
After losing Eric Fisher, Mark Glowinski, and Chris Reed in free agency, the Colts need reinforcements on the offensive line. Green is the perfect player to slide into the right guard spot.
43) Atlanta Falcons: Sam Howell, QB, North Carolina
While the Falcons didn’t pull the trigger on a QB in the first round, Howell is a nice consolation prize at the position. He can sit behind Mariota this season and learn the ropes of the position in the NFL.
2022 2-Round NFL Mock Draft: Round 2 | Picks 44-54
As the second round continues, plenty of high-upside prospects remain on the board.
44) Cleveland Browns: Boye Mafe, EDGE, Minnesota
With the Browns’ first pick of the draft, they select a tag-team partner for Garrett. Mafe should be a long-term piece for the Browns’ pass rush.
45) Baltimore Ravens: DeMarvin Leal, DT, Texas A&M
Leal can come in and learn from Calais Campbell before ultimately replacing him. Leal is a big dude who can wreck an opposing offensive line.
46) Minnesota Vikings: Arnold Ebiketie, EDGE, Penn State
The Vikings need some insurance at pass rusher, and Ebiketie is the perfect solution to that problem. He’s the right guy to place opposite Danielle Hunter.
47) Washington Commanders: Sean Rhyan, G, UCLA
While the Commanders brought in Andrew Norwell, they could use some more upgrades on the line. Rhyan is a long-term piece of the offensive puzzle.
48) Chicago Bears: Christian Watson, WR, North Dakota State
The Bears need help at wideout, and Watson has a very high ceiling. He could be a No. 1 receiver for Fields by the end of his rookie season.
49) New Orleans Saints: George Pickens, WR, Georgia
Winston should get ready to air out the ball with Michael Thomas coming back. That said, the Saints need an outside threat, and Pickens can provide the juice.
50) Kansas City Chiefs: Alec Pierce, WR, Cincinnati
After passing on the wideouts at the end of the first round, the Chiefs add a playmaker to their funky bunch. Pierce should be able to work at all three receiver positions in time.
51) Philadelphia Eagles: Jalen Pitre, S, Baylor
The Eagles have a clear opening at free safety. Pitre is a versatile, playmaking DB who can fit right into Jonathan Gannon’s defense. He’s got the range to make the entire back end better.
52) Pittsburgh Steelers: Tariq Woolen, CB, UCLA
With Joe Haden out of the mix, the Steelers should look for his long-term replacement. Woolen can compete for a starting job right away.
53) Green Bay Packers: Brandon Smith, LB, Penn State
The Packers need to improve their defense this offseason. Smith is a sideline-to-sideline defender with pass-rushing upside.
54) New England Patriots: Breece Hall, RB, Iowa State
The Patriots typically churn out running backs instead of paying them. Hall is the latest in an assembly line of talent.
2022 2-Round NFL Mock Draft: Round 2 | Picks 55-64
Here’s how we wrap up the final picks of this 2022 NFL Mock Draft.
55) Arizona Cardinals: Drake Jackson, EDGE, USC
The Cardinals need pass-rushing help with Chandler Jones now in Las Vegas. Jackson is a nearby prospect who can step up right away.
56) Dallas Cowboys: Travis Jones, DT, Cincinnati
While a lot has been made of the Cowboys’ wideout woes, the defense still needs TLC. Jones can slide right in and abuse opposing QBs.
57) Buffalo Bills: Sam Williams, EDGE, Mississippi
Again, the Bills don’t have a lot of holes. Adding to their impressive pass-rush rotation is the right move.
58) Atlanta Falcons: Myjai Sanders, EDGE, Cincinnati
Sanders fills a major need for the Falcons, who have the worst roster in the league. Sanders and Lorenzo Carter will form an intriguing pass-rush tandem for the future.
59) Green Bay Packers: Cameron Thomas, EDGE, San Diego State
Thomas joins a pile of impressive picks for Green Bay. The pass rush was hurt with the loss of Za’Darius Smith, and Thomas will look to alleviate that woe.
60) Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Carson Strong, QB, Nevada
The Bucs need a long-term successor to Tom Brady, and while Kyle Trask still has upside, adding another charming young piece to the puzzle makes sense. Yes, we know they already have four QBs on the roster.
61) San Francisco 49ers: Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan
With Deebo Samuel looking to get paid, the 49ers need to add some insurance. Moore can eventually team with Samuel and Brandon Aiyuk down the road.
62) Kansas City Chiefs: Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State
While Travis Kelce is still one of the elite tight end talents in the game, he’s getting a bit long in the tooth. McBride can be his partner and understudy.
63) Cincinnati Bengals: Phidarian Mathis, DT, Alabama
Even after re-signing B.J. Hill, the Bengals could use some help up front. Mathis is a spectacular piece to add to the puzzle.
64) Denver Broncos: Kenneth Walker III, RB, Michigan State
Walker is a dynamic playmaker to pair with Wilson. The Broncos make their first pick count with an absolute stud to play alongside Javonte Williams.
