There are many ways to play offense in Madden NFL 25 after EA Sports developers massively revamped the playbooks in this year’s game.
Mike McDaniel’s “Cheat Motion,” Ryan Grubb’s “Spread Air Raid,” and Andy Reid’s unique “West Coast” style are just a few of the many emphasized elements in this year’s game.
Finding a good offense that fits your style is important to winning more games.
Let’s rank the 10 best offensive playbooks in Madden NFL 25.
Top 10 Offensive Playbooks in Madden NFL 25
10. New York Jets
The Jets’ playbook is very balanced and has some of the best compressed sets in the game.
Formations like “Bunch TE,” “Bunch,” and “Tight Offset TE” really allow you to beat both man and zone defense. The Jets have the best “Split Close” formation in the game also.
9. Cincinnati Bengals
If you are a fan of passing the pigskin, then the Bengals’ playbook could be for you, as it is loaded with elite shotgun formations.
“Tight Slots,” “Bunch Offset,” “Bunch Str Nasty,” and “Empty Chips” allow you to create some very strong passing concepts.
8. West Coast Alternate
One of my personal favorites every year, the West Coast playbook allows you to utilize a few different personnel packages.
The playbook has one of the best “Gun Bunch” formations with plays like “Mesh Post”, but it also has some really unique two-running back formations like “Near” and “Far,” which are only found in this playbook.
7. Seattle Seahawks
Seahawks offensive coordinator Ryan Grubb brings his “Spread Air Raid” system from the University of Washington to the NFL, and Madden 25 has incorporated it correctly.
With a bunch of quarterback-designed runs and option plays, you really get the college feel of this offense.
“Gun Bunch TE,” “Gun Normal Flex Snug,” and “Gun Trips TE” are some of the best formations in the entire game.
6. New England Patriots
Year after year, Madden gamers will recognize the Patriots’ playbook as it basically stays the same from the previous years.
The formation, “Gun Y Off Trips Pats” remains one of the most unique and effective in the game. The “Gun Trips TE” and “Gun Bunch” are still elite, while the playbook has some nice Singleback sets, too.
5. Run N Gun Alternate
The developers at EA completely overhauled this playbook from last year, and it is very strong in Madden NFL 25.
“Gun Tight Flex, “Gun Trips TE,” and a ton of bunch formations are the staples of this playbook. I’m a personal favorite of the “Gun Trey Open,” and don’t forget to throw in a little “Wildcat” offense for some cheap yardage.
4. Kansas City Chiefs
Yes, the “Corndog” play is in this year’s game, and the play itself is a little subpar. However, the “Corndog Trail” play is much better in the “Bunch Str Nasty” formation.
This playbook is loaded with unique plays and concepts pioneered by offensive mastermind Andy Reid. It is loaded with every possible Shotgun formation you could want while also offering some nice under center sets, especially for the red zone.
3. Miami Dolphins
Mike McDaniel brings his “Orbit Cheat Motion” style offensive to Madden, and it is extremely fun to run.
You can find a “cheat” play in almost every formation in this playbook and can get some really nice speed boosts off the line utilizing these.
The Dolphins offer the best playbook for tight compressed formations, so you can easily read and dissect defenses.
2. Indianapolis Colts
Offering the best bunch formations in the game, the Colts’ playbook comes in at No. 2 on our list.
Bunch has long been the best in Madden, and the Colts lead the way with arguably the best play in the entire game, “Double Post” out of “Gun Bunch Offset.”
Throw in the “Gun Bunch Str Nasty” and “Gun Tight Open” formations as well, and you will be scoring with ease in Madden NFL 25.
1. Green Bay Packers
Matt LaFleur’s offense in Madden 25 gets the No. 1 spot on our list as the playbook was completely revamped — and for the better.
It is absolutely loaded with all of the best formations in Madden. It resembles when you make a custom playbook with all the top plays. It is that good.
You can dominate with this offense from any personnel package, as it has good formations with two running backs, two tight ends, or three receivers.
