8-Time Olympic Gold Medalist Usain Bolt Reveals Admiration for Wings Star Paige Bueckers

8-time Olympic gold medalist Usain Bolt reveals his opinion on the Dallas Wings' superstar Paige Bueckers.

Paige Bueckers has added another name to her growing list of celebrity admirers. The Dallas Wings rookie sensation caught the attention of track and field legend Usain Bolt during her offseason stint with Breeze BC at Unrivaled in Miami.

Bolt made a courtside appearance Friday night to watch Bueckers play, continuing his support for a player he first encountered during the 2025 WNBA season.

What Did Usain Bolt Say About Paige Bueckers?

The 39-year-old sprinting icon had already attended multiple Wings games last summer, meeting Bueckers for the first time when she gifted him a signed jersey. That initial encounter turned into genuine fandom, as Bolt returned to watch the Wings play against the New York Liberty the following night and saw Bueckers drop 20 points in a victory.

Speaking with TNT Sports courtside at Unrivaled, Bolt didn’t hold back his enthusiasm for Bueckers and the Wings. The former fastest man alive revealed that watching the WNBA Rookie of the Year has turned him into a full-fledged Dallas supporter, complete with plans to secure season tickets for the upcoming 2026 campaign.

“I’m definitely a fan,” Bolt said. “We actually support Dallas, you know, I mean we’ve been to a few games in Dallas. We actually are getting season tickets this season, so I’m looking forward to seeing much more games.”

Bolt’s commitment to becoming a Wings season ticket holder speaks volumes about Bueckers’ impact beyond the court. The 24-year-old guard averaged 19.2 points, 5.4 assists, 3.9 rebounds, and 1.6 steals per game during her rookie season, earning All-WNBA Second Team honors as the only rookie selected to an All-WNBA team.

She also won three consecutive WNBA Rookie of the Month awards and scored a rookie record 44 points in a single game.

Those accomplishments came despite the Wings finishing 10-34, last place in the WNBA standings. Bueckers carried a struggling franchise on her back while adjusting to professional basketball after winning a national championship at UConn. The difficulty of that transition hasn’t diminished her star power. If anything, it’s enhanced it, showing her ability to produce elite numbers without a supporting cast built for winning.

The Wings will host three games at American Airlines Center during the 2026 season, including an August matchup against Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever. That game drew 20,409 fans last summer, the largest WNBA crowd in Texas history.

Bolt’s presence at future games, possibly as a season ticket holder, adds another layer of celebrity endorsement to a franchise rebuilding around its young superstar. Bueckers has attracted support from legends across sports, but Bolt’s commitment to buying season tickets sets casual celebrity appearances apart from genuine investment in her career.
