Caitlin Clark Sends Bold Message About Her WNBA Future and Where She Wants To Finish Her Career

While Caitlin Clark has been out with a quad injury since May 24, the Fever guard has still been grabbing headlines across Indiana, especially for her appearances at Indiana Pacers games. The Pacers are now 8-0 with Clark in attendance.

With the Pacers just two wins away from the Larry O’Brien Trophy and excitement growing around the Fever’s revival, Hoosier basketball is having a big year. Whether that success can be sustained will depend on Indiana’s two basketball stars, Clark and Tyrese Haliburton. While Haliburton is busy taking on the Oklahoma City Thunder, Clark just provided an update on her WNBA future.

Clark’s Connection With Indiana Has Just Begun

When Clark entered the league last year, she was welcomed to the city with open arms as fans hoped she could turn things around. The Fever guard did just that, leading them to their first playoff appearance since 2016 and winning Rookie of the Year. Their playoff run ended early, but it came with a clear lesson that the team needed to surround her with the right pieces to reach the next level.

The Fever have tried to do just that this season, giving Clark a better chance to compete for championships. While that certainly plays a role in extending her time in Indiana, the other factor that could help keep her there is Haliburton.

“Ty and I would both tell you this is where we both hope to stay the rest of our careers,” Clark said. “People are like, ‘It’s a small market.’ But no, that’s what makes it fun. These people, this is what means the world to them.”

The two point guards have made their support for each other’s teams clear. Haliburton even showed up to the Fever’s playoff game last year. But it’s their off-court friendship that should calm any fears for Indiana basketball fans.

“The four of us hang out all the time,” Haliburton said, referring to Clark and their respective partners. “She goes through a lot, as you know. There’s a lot of weight and eyes on her. Obviously, there is on me as well, but hers are amplified times a million.”

Their bond and communication help foster a strong foundation for both teams. Haliburton, now in his fifth season, is offering guidance as Clark navigates her early years in the pros.

“Obviously, this is only Year 2 for me, and he’s in whatever, six or five, whatever it is for him. So he’s been through it. That’s just how we bounce ideas off of each other.”

Clark’s comments about her future are great to hear for fans, but the Fever’s current form is more pressing. They’ve dropped four of their last six games, three of those coming during Clark’s absence. Her quad injury has become a major concern and reminds everyone just how important she is to Stephanie White’s team.

With the Pacers carrying the torch for Indiana hoops right now, all eyes will be on the Fever once the NBA Finals wrap up. The team underwent a full overhaul this offseason, and expectations have been high from the start. Getting Clark back to full health is now priority No. 1. With big expectations comes big pressure. But for Clark, that won’t be a problem. Her co-star and friend is always just a text away.
