The Golden State Warriors will enter their next game against the Atlanta Hawks without their superstar point guard, Stephen Curry. Curry, who left the game against the Toronto Raptors with a pelvic contusion, will be out at least one game as he attempts to heal.
The Warriors are currently 41-29 and have shown vast improvements all around since acquiring Jimmy Butler III. Butler has been a connector in many instances, while the rejuvenated play of Draymond Green has his name buzzing in the Defensive Player Of the Year discussion.
With Curry expected to be re-evaluated on Monday, there is a possibility that the Warriors hold him out a little longer to prepare for the playoff run ahead. A refreshed Curry in the playoffs next to Jimmy Butler would be a very scary sight for any team that would face them.
Dr. Nirav Pandya M.D. Believes Stephen Curry Won’t Be Out Long
While the prognosis for Curry’s injury is unknown at this time, the Warriors have hit a period in the season where they have multiple days in between games to allow for rest. Curry, who missed the Warriors’ impressive victory against the Bucks earlier in the week, would be able to have a full week of rest if he sat for the Hawks and the Miami Heat game on March 25th.
While a week doesn’t sound like a lot of time, for an experienced and well-conditioned athlete like Curry, it could be a major factor in refreshing the superstar, who recently turned 37.
Dr. Nirav Pandya M.D., who is very well known in the Warriors Twitter circles, discussed Curry’s injury on 95.7 The Game while appearing on the Willard & Dibs show.
Pandya has appeared on the Bay Area sports station in the past, typically after serious injuries or before returns to action for injured players. Pandya had this to say about Curry’s injury:
"This is gonna be a relatively short time missed for [Steph Curry]…I think they rest him; maybe rest him a little bit more because he's been dealing with this fatigue, and I think this may actually be a blessing in disguise come a week or two from now."

Resting Curry for one extra game might not hurt during this upcoming road trip, as the Warriors will face teams that are currently on a downward trajectory or at the bottom of the standings, but they need to be mindful of the current race to avoid the play-in.
Will The Warriors Maintain The Sixth Seed?
The Warriors have reached a point where they have a small bit of breathing room as the sixth seed in the Western Conference. Every game counts, however, as the Warriors are only 1.5 games above the Los Angeles Clippers and Minnesota Timberwolves.
If the Warriors can continue to win, there’s a chance they could steal the fifth seed as well. The Grizzlies are only two games ahead of the Warriors, and the two teams will face each other on this upcoming Warriors road trip.
Will the Warriors be able to hold onto the sixth seed? Will they find a way to climb into the fourth or fifth seed before the season ends? This upcoming road trip might be able to answer both of those questions.
